Mikhail Grabovski C NYI 16 Days

Grabovski found the net for his fifth goal of the season in Thursday's loss to the Blues.

With 11 points and a plus-5 rating in 26 games, Grabovski has been just an adequate producer in his first season on Long Island, primarily working on the team's second line. It looks like the 30-year-old's days a 50-point scorer might be finished, but he'll still offer quality depth at forward for the Islanders.

Grabovski tallied his fourth goal of the season in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Bolts.

Grabovski was one of three Isles to find the net in the second period, giving him nine points in 15 games for the season. The winger should continue to produce fairly steadily on the Islanders' second line, but it might be difficult to count on him to surpass the 50-point plateau.

Grabovski (concussion) was on the ice for morning skate and appears set to return to action Saturday against the Stars, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.

Unless the Islanders reveal that Grabovski suffered a late setback with his concussion during the morning session, he'll be activated from injured reserve and skate as the left wing on the Isles' second line. Grabovski missed the previous three games with the concussion.

Grabovski (concussion) felt good while practicing Friday and could play Saturday against the Stars, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.

Grabovski took part in Friday's session in a full capacity, joining Frans Nielsen and Cory Conacher on the Isles' second line. The team will reexamine him after Saturday's morning skate before reaching a determination on his status for the game later that evening, but if his concussion symptoms don't resurface, expect the team to activate him from IR.

Grabovski (concussion) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday, with a retroactive date of Oct. 16.

Grabovski has been skating the last couple of days, but is still waiting to receive clearance for full contact. Once that happens, Grabovski will likely need to make it through a practice or two before the Islanders bring him back for games. His move from to IR will allow the Islanders to activate Lubomir Visnovsky in advance of Thursday's game against the Bruins.

Grabovski (concussion) went through a light skate Tuesday morning, TSN's Mark Masters reports.

Head coach Jack Capuano was encouraged by Grabovski's participation, calling it a positive sign in his recovery. Grabovski remains day-to-day for now, but with him back on the ice, a return should not be far off, so long as his concussion symptoms do not worsen.

Grabovski was diagnosed with concussion-like symptoms Friday, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.

This would explain the Islanders' rationale for ruling Grabovski "out indefinitely" after their practice Friday. The forward will be reevaluated early next week, with the hope that he'll be able to return to the ice before long.

Grabovski (undisclosed) won't travel with the Islanders to Pittsburgh for Saturday's game and has been ruled out indefinitely, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.

Though the Islanders haven't offered much clarity on the exact nature of his injury, it's possible that Grabovski is experiencing concussion-like symptoms as a result of the hit he took from the Sharks' John Scott on Tuesday. The Islanders will reassess Grabovski's condition when they return to Long Island after the weekend, but if the forward ends up missing subsequent games, a move to IR will likely be considered.
