Michael Grabner RW NYI 2 Months

Grabner (undisclosed) has missed the Islanders' last two practices, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.

Coach Jack Capuano didn't provide much information on Grabner's condition, making it difficult to discern when he might return to the ice. Though Grabner has a 50-point season on his career resume, he's not necessarily guaranteed a top-nine wing spot to begin the season. Two spots remain up for grabs, with all of Grabner, Josh Bailey, Cory Conacher, Anders Lee and Jack Skille vying for the roles.

He entered the Olympic break with two goals in his last 14 contests, but he's registered five markers in three matches in Sochi. Grabner has recorded just nine goals in 56 games and he went through a 31-game drought after scoring a pair in the Islanders' regular-season opener.
