Glencross (lower body) was absent from Friday's practice, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet.ca reports.

It doesn't come as a surprise that Glencross missed practice a day after suffering the injury in a win over the Coyotes. He'll be considered day-to-day until the Flames provide a firmer diagnosis of his condition.

Glencross suffered a lower-body injury in the first period of Thursday's game against the Coyotes and will not return, Kristen Odland of the Calgary Herald reports.

Glencross went on a hot streak following the holiday break, but has cooled down a bit over the last couple weeks. He has eight goals and 18 assists over 43 games on the season, and won't add to the total Thursday. The team should provide an update on his status prior to Sunday's contest against the Sharks.

Glencross has now ripped off five points over a three-game point streak and looks to be heating up as the calendar turns to 2015. He's up to eight goals, 26 points, a plus-9 rating, 30 PIM and 71 SOG this year, so perhaps he'll be able to surpass his career high of 48 points set in 2011-12 when all's said and done this season.

Glencross picked up a goal, assist and a team-leading seven hits in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Oilers.

Quite an impressive display from Glencross, who typically isn't known for posting high hit totals. After opening December with a pair of two-point performances, Glencross has tallied a more modest two goals and three assists over his last 10 games. Those contributions are certainly welcome from a depth forward, but probably aren't significant enough to justify owning Glencross in most formats.

Over his last seven contests, Glencross has accumulated eight points -- three goals and five helpers. He already has more assists in 27 games this year than he totaled in 38 games last year. Staying healthy has been an issue for him, but if he can do so, Glencross has a real chance to clear 40 and maybe even 50 points.

His surprisingly productive season continues, as Glencross now has 16 points in 26 games -- a scoring pace he's only matched once in his career, back in 2011-12. He's also sitting on a plus-6 rating; after finishing with a minus-13, minus-8 and minus-11 the last three seasons, that's quite the refreshing change of pace if he can keep it up. It helps in that respect that Calgary's defense and goaltending have been shored up this year.

It was quite the productive night for Glencross, who also had three shots, four hits, and a game-high six takeaways. Known for being consistently inconsistent, the first-liner has now compiled three goals and 10 points in his last 11 games. While he may be streaky, Glencross is known for delivering 20 goals and 40-50 points every season. A solid scorer who won't post outstanding point totals.

Glencross has always been a maddening fantasy player, as he is ridiculously streaky. That being said, with the current roll he's on, now would be a good time to play him.
