Backes netted a power-play goal in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Jets.

Backes now has six goals with five coming with the man advantage. With 10 points through 20 games, he's on pace for about 40 by the end of the season which, while not as high as his previous career totals, is still worthy of fantasy consideration.

Backes registered his first even-strength goal of the season and an assist in Saturday's win over the Capitals.

Backes is up to five goals and nine points in 16 games this season, to go with a minus-2 rating. While that production is respectable, it really doesn't compare to the ridiculous offensive contributions the team has got from the Jaden Schwartz, Jori Lehtera, and Vladimir Tarasenko line. With the way that line is playing, nobody has really noticed Backes is on pace to post his lowest full-season point total in four years. Backes is still a very reliable fantasy option, however, as he should post another season in the 25-goal range.

Backes scored his fourth goal Tuesday in a 6-1 win over Buffalo. He added three shots and four hits.

Backes has seven points in 14 games and all four of his goals have come on the power play. He was slowed by a concussion a couple of weeks ago, but now that he is healthy he should be getting back to form.

Backes scored his third goal of the season Thursday in a win over New Jersey. He added four shots, three hits, and two blocked shots, but was also minus-2 on the night.

Backes is off to a bit of a slow start with six points in 12 games. He also recently missed a game with a concussion. Neither should factor into his production over the full course of the season.

Backes is questionable for the Blues' Saturday night match up with the Avalanche, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Backes passed his baseline concussion tests and was able to skate Friday morning, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

While Backes' presence on the ice represents encouragement, he still has to pass several more steps of the concussion protocol before receiving the green light to return to the lineup. His return shouldn't be viewed as forthcoming until he absorbs full contact in practices.

Backes has been diagnosed with a concussion and is considered out indefinitely, Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reports.

As the Blues feared when Backes hit his head hard on the ice Tuesday night, the captain suffered a concussion and will now be subjected to the league protocol. Coach Ken Hitchcock also said T.J. Oshie was out indefinitely with a concussion sustained Tuesday night, depriving the Blues of two of their top-line stalwarts. While Backes doesn't have an exhaustive list of concussions on his career ledger, the head injury certainly isn't foreign to him, making it tough to project how soon he may be able to return to the ice.

Not surprisingly, Backes did not participate in the Blues' practice on Wednesday, Lou Korac of the Blues' official site reports.

The practice was only optional for the Blues so this may have been a rest day for Backes after being removed from Tuesday's game against the Stars with an apparent head injury. Given that it is a head injury, Backes will have to through the concussion protocols, which places his status for Thursday's game against the Ducks in jeopardy. The 30-year-old winger has scored two goals and three assists in eight games played this season.

Backes was removed from Tuesday's game against the Stars with an upper-body injury and will not return.

Backes fell hard and appeared to hit his head on the ice during the first period of action. He remained down on the ice for a while before finally ambling to his feet and heading to the locker room. He'll more than likely be evaluated for a possible concussion over the next 24 hours, putting his status in peril for the Blues' critical showdown with the Ducks on Thursday.
