David Backes (upper body) didn't participate in Friday's morning skate.

Backes still hasn't been ruled out for Friday night's game, but we doubt he'll be in the lineup. He has already missed two contests since he Brent Seabrook struck him with a high hit. If Backes sustained a concussion, then the fact that he hasn't been skating likely means that he isn't close to returning.

David Backes has been seen wearing a walking boot and he may not be available to play before the regular season is over.

"He is going to be out for potentially three games and then play," said coach Ken Hitchcock, suggesting that Backes could be ready when the playoffs begin. He was injured Tuesday night after his left foot was struck by a shot from teammate Alexander Steen.
