Tomas Fleischmann LW FLA 1 Month

Fleischmann was a healthy scratch for Monday's win over the Penguins.

Fleischmann had been held without a point in his last four games, and with the Panthers set to enjoy a four-day break for the holidays, coach Gerard Gallant chose to gave the veteran forward a head start on resting up. The 30-year-old was holding down a top-six role for the Panthers earlier in December, but the opportunity to reclaim that perch may no longer exist for Fleischmann with his production starting to tapering off the last couple of weeks.

Fleischmann notched a goal on one of his four shot attempts and finished with a plus-2 rating in Friday's shootout victory over the Red Wings.

Just when he looked like he would be phased out of a prominent role on the Panthers' attack, Fleischmann has busted out with points in four consecutive games, going a collective plus-5 during that stretch. He saw a season-high 20:47 of ice time Friday and should remain on fertile ground as the member of the top trio with Jonathan Huberdeau and budding star Nick Bjugstad. Fleischmann is worth scooping up in deeper formats if he's still available on the waiver wire.

Fleischmann scored a goal on four shots and added an assist in Thursday's shootout loss to the Jackets.

His second-period goal started the Panthers on a comeback from a 3-0 deficit, and he assisted on Nick Bjugstad's tally 2:10 later to draw the team within one. This is a shining moment in what's been an awful season for Fleischmann, who scored his only other goal of the year Nov. 11 and has just five points on his ledger in 22 games.

Fleischmann will serve as a healthy scratch for Monday's game against the Wild, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.

This should come as no surprise considering how Fleischmann has only put up two points in 17 games this season. He has been moved up and down the lineup to try and spark some offence but nothing has seemed to work this season. Last season was his worst output since becoming a Panther in 2011, only scoring 28 points (8G,20A) in 80 games. Fleischmann is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer, but his $4.5 million cap hit won't make things easy for Florida in terms of the team's salary cap if they keep scratching him. Look for him to get back into the lineup sooner rather than later.

Fleischmann celebrated his return to the lineup Tuesday by scoring his first goal of the year in a win over the Sharks.

Fleischmann only saw 12:35 of ice time, but the goal will certainly get the Panthers to feel better abut him after he picked up just a lonely assist in the first 11 games of the season.

Fleischmann will return to the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Sharks,George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.

Fleischmann was a healthy scratch for Saturday's 6-4 loss to the Flames, but Coach Gerard Gallant said "I know when he comes back in the next game he'll play hard and hopefully it goes well for him. It's not that he's been bad, but I thought other guys were better and that's why we made the change. It was one game. He'll play the next one." Where Fleischmann plays is yet to be known, but he was practicing on the fourth line with Derek Mackenzie and Shawn Thornton.

Fleischmann was a healthy scratch for the Panthers in Saturday's game against the Flames.

With Jonathan Huberdeau (illness) cleared to return to the lineup, coach Gerard Gallant chose to bump Fleischmann, who has produced just one point in 11 games on the season. The 30-year-old is in the final year of a four-year, $18 million deal with the Panthers and will likely be phased out over the course of the season, as the organization looks to give some of its younger forwards more ice time.

Fleischmann was awarded an assist and his first point of the season against Arizona on Saturday.

The 30-year old pending unrestricted free agent is off to a slow start this season. Last year was his worst statistically in the past three seasons, scoring only 28 points in 80 games played. Considering he is playing for his next contract this season, expect him to turn it around and hopefully sooner rather than later.

Fleischmann has failed to register any points after the first three games of the season.

Fleischmann owners are hoping for a bounce back season this year after seeing only 28 points in 80 games with a minus 18 rating last season. He has started the season playing on the Panthers third line with Sean Bergenheim and Dave Bolland. With Fleischmann not seeing top power play time, he could be in for another disappointing season on a team that has trouble scoring.

Tomas Fleischmann scored a rare goal for the Panthers in Sunday's 6-2 blowout loss to the Ducks.

It's hard to explain why the talented winger has struggled so badly this season since he had enjoyed two productive campaigns prior to this one, but his total of eight goals in 70 games is a massive disappointment. Jimmy Hayes also scored in the loss, reaching double-digit markers for the first time in his career.
