Martin Erat left Wednesday's game after landing on his arm after a collision.

Erat was injured in a collision with teammate Alex Ovechkin and Derek Stapan as the Rangers forward was nearing a scoring chance. Ovechkin nailed the Rangers forward but also got a piece of Erat, who was also trying to stick the puck away. He fell and landed on his forearm/wrist area, leaving while in a lot of pain.

Martin Erat recorded his first goal in a Washington Capitals uniform Tuesday night in a 5-1 win over Toronto.

He also added an assist after he went pointless in his first three contests with the Capitals since being acquired from Nashville. Alex Ovechkin remained red hot with a goal and an assist of his own in the contest, while Mike Ribeiro, John Carlson and Mike Green contributed two assists apiece.

Martin Erat returned to the Caps' lineup Saturday after missing three games with a lower-body injury.

Erat was a non-factor in his return Saturday night. He played just over 15 minutes and finished the night with a minus-two rating. Erat usually hovers just below 60 points per season, but he's well below that pace during the lockout-shortened campaign. He has recorded four goals and 21 points in 39 contests this year.

Wolski looks to be the odd forward out. Erat hasn't recorded a point in his last five games.

Erat will likely play tonight, but monitor his status throughout the day just to make sure. He will probably jump back on the second line with Ribeiro and Brouwer.

Martin Erat will be back in the Washington lineup Saturday night against Tampa.

He missed the last week with a lower-body injury but seems good to go against the Bolts. Activate him immediately.
