Emery surrendered six goals on 28 shot attempts in Saturday's loss to the Canadiens.

Making his first start for the Flyers since Oct. 30, Emery certainly looked rusty from the get-go, yielding two goals in the first period to put his team in an early hole. With No. 1 goalie Steve Mason righting the ship in recent weeks, it looks like Emery might only be used in back-to-back game scenarios as the season wears on.

The Flyers confirmed Emery would start in the crease Saturday against the Canadiens, Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Emery will be making his first start since Oct. 30, as Steve Mason has since reemerged as the team's No. 1 option in goal. The Canadiens are expected to counter with Carey Price in the opposite net.

Emery is expected to receive the start in goal Saturday against the Canadiens, Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Steve Mason has made the previous five starts in the net for the Flyers, but with the team playing the second half of a back-to-back set Saturday, look for Emery to see the ice for the first time in over two weeks. Emery has a 4-1-1 record over six appearances, but a rather pedestrian 2.74 GAA and .915 save percentage.

Emery was scored upon four times among 32 shots in Thursday's loss to the Lightning.

Not the shiniest outing for Emery, who'd been undefeated in regulation over his first five starts of the year. Steve Mason has been abhorrent so far, so Emery has a chance to carve out a bigger role, but outings like Thursday's won't help his case.

Emery turned away all but two of the 40 shots he faced in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime win over the Kings.

Flyers' coach Craig Berube has said that he'll stick with Emery as long as he's got the hot hand, and he certainly does right now. He also said that he hasn't given up on Steve Mason. Stay tuned before Thursday's game against Tampa Bay to see who Berube puts in net. If Emery is in net, he's a solid start.

Emery will be in goal for Tuesday's game against the Kings, CSN's Sarah Baicker reports.

Emery will start his fourth game of the season -- and third straight -- Tuesday night. He has not officially replaced Steve Mason as the Flyers' primary goaltender, but it seems he has taken over the role at least for the time being. The Flyers will need a strong outing from Emery on Tuesday facing a Kings squad that is giving up a league-best 1.50 goals per game this season.

Emery stymied the Red Wings' shooters Saturday night, allowing just two goals on 37 shots.

It was a really nice showing for a guy who has been middling at best so far. Another outing like this and there could be a goalie controversy in the City of Brotherly Love. Watch carefully and be prepared to pounce.

Emery will backstop the Flyers in their game Saturday versus the Red Wings.

With Steve Mason continuing to scuffle (0-3-1, 3.83 GAA in five outings), Emery will earn his third start of the season, as the Flyers look to receive some competent play in goal. Emery hasn't looked great either in his limited action (2.84 GAA, .897 save percentage), and even with a quality outing Saturday, he's probably not a serious threat to challenge Mason's claim to the No. 1 gig.

Emery allowed three goals on 25 shots in Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Penguins.

With Wednesday being the Flyers' second game in as many nights, Emery got the call between the pipes to give starter Steve Mason some rest. Emery wasn't spectacular, but he did enough to earn a victory behind Philly's high-powered offense.

Emery will start Wednesday against the Penguins, Tim Panaccio of CSNPhilly.com reports.

As expected, Emery will get the start in goal Wednesday following another lackluster showing from Steve Mason on Tuesday. Through five starts this season, Mason has a 3.83 GAA and .878 save percentage, so a strong effort Wednesday could earn Emery at least a slightly larger share of the opportunities moving forward.
