Lars Eller C MON 19 Hrs

Eller (upper body) skated on the third line at Montreal's practice on Friday.

Despite being activated from injured reserve Thursday, Eller ended up serving as a scratch for the contest after taking part in warmups. With the demotion of Eric Tangradi back to AHL Hamilton on Friday, it looks like Eller will rejoin the lineup Saturday versus the Senators. He last played Dec. 5 against the Blackhawks before having to depart early with the injury.

Eller (upper body) will not play Thursday against the Ducks, Guillaume Lefrancois of the Canadian Press reports.

Though he was activated from injured reserve earlier in the day and was a participant in the Habs' pregame skate, Eller's return to the lineup will have to wait another game. It seems to be just for precautionary purposes, as the Canadiens likely wouldn't have activated Eller if they weren't convinced he was close to 100 percent healthy. He'll have a good shot at returning to action Saturday versus the Senators, but Eric Tangradi will retain a spot in the lineup for Thursday.

Eller (upper body) was activated from injured reserve ahead of Thursday's game against the Ducks.

Though the Canadiens are listing him as a game-time decision, Eller's activation bodes well for his chances of suiting up Thursday. The team will see if he can make it through pregame warmups without any setbacks, and if that ends up coming to fruition, Eller will likely play his first game since Dec. 5.

Eller (upper body) will be a game-time decision for Thursday's game against the Ducks, John Lu of TSN Montreal reports.

Eller is on the verge of returning after missing the last four games, and he could take the ice Thursday night. If he does not play Thursday, it seems likely Eller will be ready to go for Montreal's next game Saturday against the Senators.

Eller (upper body) was cleared to resume practicing with full contact Wednesday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

Eller has been out since Dec. 6 with the upper-body ailment, but looks like he could be zeroing in on a return to the Montreal lineup. He didn't take in any regular line work at Wednesday's practice, however, making it doubtful that his return will come Thursday against the Ducks. Saturday's home date with the Senators might be a more viable target for Eller.

Eller (upper body) practiced in a non-contact jersey Monday, John Lu of TSN reports.

The center hasn't played in 10 days now, but it's a good sign that he's back on the ice at least. He'll probably miss a few more games while he recovers.

Lars Eller C MON 8 Days

Eller (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Friday.

Eller is expected to miss at least another week or two due to the injury, so moving him to IR will simply give the Canadiens more roster flexibility until he's able to return. The forward remains limited to skating on his own at this time.

Eller (upper body) skated before Thursday's practice with a team athletic therapist, the Montreal Gazette reports.

The good news is that Eller has begun skating; the bad news is that's out for another one-to-two weeks.

Lars Eller C MON 10 Days

Eller (upper body) is expected to miss one-to-two weeks, Marc Antoine Godin of the Montreal Press reports.

After Eller failed to practice the last couple of days, the Canadiens decided to push his return timetable back and remove his day-to-day tag. He'll likely take the next week to rest up before resuming on-ice work in anticipation of a return near the end of the month.

Eller (upper body) did not practice with the team Monday.

Eller is dealing with a suspected shoulder injury, and looks doubtful to be in the lineup Tuesday against the Canucks. The center has collected seven goals and four assists in 28 games to date.
