Ehrhoff will hang up his skates and call it a career, John Vogl of The Buffalo News reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ehrhoff logged 52 games for DEL Cologne this season, in which he tallied eight goals and 23 helpers. The highlight of the veteran's season came when he helped Germany win a silver medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics. In the NHL, the blueliner appeared in 789 games spread out across six organizations. The 35-year-old's contract buyout with the Sabres -- a $40 million, 10-year contract signed in 2011 -- will see him continue to get paid by the club through the 2027-28 season.

Ehrhoff signed with Kolner Haie of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Ehrhoff was in camp on a professional tryout agreement with the Bruins, but after failing to secure a commitment for consistent play time, opted to walk away from the tryout. Instead the 34-year-old returns to the DHL where he began his career and last played during the lockout shortened 2012-13 season. After bouncing around the NHL the last few years, it seems unlikely the veteran will be returning to North America to play hockey in the near future.

Ehrhoff -- who was with the Bruins on a professional tryout agreement -- has reportedly elected not to sign with the team, CSN New England reports.
EDGE Analysis
Per the report, Ehrhoff preferred to move on after learning that he wasn't in line to be one of the Bruins' top six blueliners. Ehrhoff -- who showed well during the World Cup of Hockey -- could catch on elsewhere, however, after playing capably during his brief stint with Boston.

Ehrhoff inked a professional tryout agreement (PTO) with Boston on Saturday, Bob McKenzie of TSN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ehrhoff had been an unrestricted free agent throughout the offseason but after a WCOH appearance for Team Europe, the Bruins decided to give the 34-year-old a shot to make their roster. It seems likely that the defenseman's best years are behind him as he hasn't contributed more than 14 points since the 2013-14 campaign but with 789 games of NHL experience under his belt, his hockey acumen alone could land him on a third or fourth line on Boston's defense.

Ehrhoff has been traded to the Blackhawks in exchange for Rob Scuderi, Chris Hine of the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is essentially a lateral swap of defenders who had been waived by their former clubs in 2015-16. Ehrhoff, who reportedly will cost the Blackhawks $1.25 million (after the Kings pay 15 percent of his salary) joins his fourth different club since 2013-14, having been a part of the Sabres, Penguins and Kings over that span. His tour with the Blackhawks might even be short lived as he'll become an unrestricted free agent this summer.

Ehrhoff will be assigned to AHL Ontario after clearing waiver Thursday, Bob McKenzie of TSN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Ehrhoff finds himself in an unfamiliar situation after being a highly sought after acquisition just two seasons ago. However, an injury plagued year in Pittsburgh as well as his poor form with the Kings, a meager 10 points in 40 contests, has lead to the defenseman going unclaimed off the waiver wire. The 33-year-old has not suited up in the AHL since the 2004-05 campaign with the Cleveland Barons.

Ehrhoff was placed on waivers by the Kings on Wednesday, Bob McKenzie of TSN reports.
EDGE Analysis
In a bit of a surprising move, the Kings have decided to take their chances with the other blueliners on the roster, and will likely lose Ehrhoff on waivers to another club. The veteran blueliner has 11 points through 40 contests this season, but posted a minus-10 rating and hasn't seen as much action of late. Still, many teams are in need of another defenseman, so expect another update when he's claimed, assuming that's the case.

Ehrhoff notched assists on the Kings' last two goals -- one of them on a power play -- in Tuesday's 9-2 beatdown of the Bruins.
EDGE Analysis
Things were well in hand already, but Ehrhoff knows these stats are going to end up on the back of his hockey card, and he's now finally cleared double-digit points for the season. This was actually his first multi-point game in 2015-16, as Ehrhoff generally plays very slim minutes -- just 12:33 in this one, not at all out of line with his recent usage -- and has often served as a healthy scratch recently. In fact, he'd sat out five of the Kings' last eight games.

Ehrhoff scored his first goal in 37 games Saturday against Pittsburgh.
EDGE Analysis
The former Penguins skater has served as an occasional healthy scratch for the Kings, but games like Saturday figure to boost his confidence (and increase his opportunities). Ehrhoff now has seven points (1G, 6A) in 21 games. After scoring his first five points on the power play, the blueliner's last two points have come at even strength.

Ehrhoff earned an assist Saturday, setting up the Kings' 3-2 comeback win against Chicago.
EDGE Analysis
Ehrhoff has struggled since moving to Los Angeles in the offseason. The defenseman missed four of his last 10 games and has seen his average ice time drop to 16:20, compared to 21:46 last season. In addition to a reduction in ice time, the 33-year-old has a plus-minus of minus-6, second worst on the team. Despite his struggles, however, Ehrhoff is tied with Drew Doughty for the lead on the Kings' blue line in power-play points.
