Edler assisted on a Radim Vrbata power-play goal in Tuesday's win over the Capitals.

While his offensive production hasn't been great, Edler is playing a much better all-around game this season than he did in 2013-14. With three goals and nine points in 25 games, Edler is still on pace to hit the 30-point mark for the fifth time in his career. With Dam Hamhuis (groin) sidelined, Edler will be counted on even more than he was before, meaning we should see a spike in his production. His plus-5 rating this season is a huge improvement over his NHL-worst minus-39 rating in 2013-14.

Edler bagged a power-play goal in Wednesday's win over the Sharks.

Edler has recorded three goals this season -- all on the power play. The 28-year-old is having a great bounce back season thus far, tallying seven points in 14 games, to go with a plus-5 rating. With Vancouver's new offensive acquisitions continuing to produce, expect Edler to continue piling up points, especially on the power play.

Edler netted a power-play goal in Sunday's loss to Nashville.

Edler had gone four straight games without a point, but ended the drought Sunday against the Predators. Edler, who logged a season-high 28:09 of ice time in the loss, now has five points (two goals) in 12 games on the year. Edler is looking much better than he was last last season and should post 30-40 points in 2014-15. After posting an league-worst minus-39 rating in 2013-14, Edler is a plus-2 so far this season.

Edler scored his first goal of the season on the power play and added an assist in Saturday's win over Tampa Bay.

Edler has opened the season with three points in his first four games, to go with a minus-1 rating. Edler is a workhorse on the blueline, where he averages 23:08 of ice time per game, including 3:27 on the power play, where he lines up alongside the likes of Henrik Sedin, Daniel Sedin, and Radim Vrbata. If four games is any indication, Edler is on his way to a nice rebound season with Vancouver.

Edler picked up a goal and an assist, to go with a plus-2 rating in 21:11 of ice time in Thursday's preseason win over Edmonton.

Edler looked very good on Thursday, showing reminiscence of the 49-point player he was in 2011-2012. With some new offensive firepower up front in Radim Vrbata, Nick Bonino, and Linden Vey, there is a very good chance Edler rebounds in 2014-2015 after two seasons of declining production. Edler could very well be the steal of your fantasy draft.

Edler left Tuesday's preseason game against the Sharks after taking a puck to the face. He did not return, TSN 1040 reports.

It's unknown the severity of Edler's injury, but he will be evaluated Wednesday. The 28-year-old blueliner logged just 2:02 of ice time on Tuesday before being forced to leave the game with an "upper-body injury". After posting a league-worst minus-39 rating last season, Edler will be looking for a big bounce back campaign in 2014-2015.

Vancouver president of hockey operations Trevor Linden said that the Canucks aren't planning to ask Alexander Edler to waive his no-trade clause.

"He's got all the tools to be a dominant No. 1 defenseman," Linden said. "He'd be the first to admit he didn't have a good year, and part of our job is to recapture the Alex Edler that we all know he can be. He has the skill-set that every team wants and we just have to get him back where he should be." He posted a mere seven goals, 22 points and an abysmal minus-39 rating in 63 games this past season.

Alexander Edler is no stranger to trade rumors.

He still has five years remaining on a six-year, $30 million contract and is coming off a very disappointing season. Edler registered seven goals, 22 points and a career-low minus-39 rating in 63 games. According to Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press, the Red Wings are very interested in acquiring Edler.

Alexander Edler was a minus-two on Saturday and is now a minus-38 on the season.

Edler is tied for the worst mark in the league with Steve Ott of the Blues who spent most of the season with Buffalo. Edler has a chance to move either way as the Canucks take on Calgary on Sunday in the final game of the season.
