Keith Aucoin scored the lone Islanders' goal in a 2-1 shootout loss to the Sabres Friday night.
Sure, it was a gift from Ryan Miller, but Aucoin still managed to get his sixth of the season on the play. Overall, the 34-year-old has excelled at the AHL level during his professional career, but success in the NHL has eluded him so far. He has no fantasy value moving foward.

Keith Aucoin may draw back into the Islanders' lineup Thursday.
The team needs someone to take injured forward Michael Grabner's spot and Aucoin should get the nod. He had four goals in his first seven games, but has been relegated to the press box as a healthy scratch for the club's past seven contests.

Keith Aucoin scored his first goal as a New York Islander in Toronto on Thursday night.
The Islanders claimed Aucoin off waivers from the Leafs last week and he has generated two points in three games so far this season. The 34-year-old has excelled at the AHL level during his professional career, but success in the NHL has eluded him so far.

Keith Aucoin has been claimed off of waivers by the New York Islanders.
Aucoin had 10 goals and 37 points in 34 AHL games during the lockout. He's a star at the AHL level, but he's never found much success in the NHL. It will be interesting to see who his linemates are in New York, but we can't recommend picking him up at this time unless you're in a particularly deep league.

Keith Aucoin had a goal and three assists in the Toronto Marlies' 4-2 victory over the St. John's IceCaps.
That extends Aucoin's current point steak to four games. Aucoin is one of the best veteran players in the AHL, but he's not expected to get much - if any - playing time with the Toronto Maple Leafs when/if the lockout ends.

Keith Aucoin netted two goals in Toronto's 4-0 win against Grand Rapids on Sunday and the first of his two markers was his 800th AHL point.
He became the 11th player in the 77-year history of the AHL to reach 800 career points and he passed former Washington coach and current Anaheim bench boss Bruce Boudreau for 11th on the league's all-time scoring list. Aucoin has been playing with the Marlies this campaign, where he has 24 points in 24 games, but he hopes to secure a bottom-six role with the Leafs once the lockout is over.

Keith Aucoin was looking forward to trying to land a roster spot out of training camp with the Toronto Maple Leafs, but because of the lockout he is currently skating with the Marlies in the AHL.
"For a guy my age, especially after last year with Washington and doing so well, you think you're going to have a chance to be in the NHL full-time," said Aucoin, who signed a two-way deal with the Leafs in the summer. "I don't know if I would have made the (Leafs) out of camp, but with no camp you don't have a chance to make the team." The veteran forward has been a productive minor-leaguer for a number of years, so he should help add some scoring to the Marlies and provide leadership for the team's younger players.

The Toronto Maple Leafs officially announced their signing of veteran forward Keith Aucoin on Tuesday.
The 33-year-old winger will get $650,000 in the NHL and $350,000 if he plays in the AHL. Aucoin is a good power play player and should get a chance to show what he is capable of doing for Toronto. He played in 27 regular season games for Washington last season, scoring three times and adding eight helpers. He also played in 14 playoff games for the Capitals and chipped in with couple of assists. He will have little, if any, fantasy value in 2012-13.
