Matt Duchene took responsibility for Vancouver Canucks forward Daniel Sedin's game-winning goal on Thursday.

Sedin's goal marked a turning point in Vancouver's 4-1 win against Colorado. "I didn't do a good enough of identifying our coverage and they got a good shot off, had a good screen. It's disappointing. That's the way it's going right now," Duchene said. "We may do that play 10 times in a game and they're hitting skates instead of squeaking through. I take full responsibility for that goal. I don't accept breakdowns like that, especially late in the game like that. It's not good enough on my part." Duchene also scored Colorado's only goal in that contest.

Matt Duchene scored his 13th goal of the season in the Avalanche's 4-1 loss to the Vancouver Canucks.

Duchene and PA Parenteau have been the lone bright spots in the Avalanche's forgetable season. If there's one thing that we can take away from this abreviated season, it's that Duchene is definitely a first line player and worth his 3rd overall draft status. The speedster is one of the few good fantasy options the Avalanche have so keep throwing him out there, despite being a +/- risk.

Matt Duchene tallied twice, including the overtime winner, for the Avalanche in a 3-2 victory over San Jose.

Duchene has been leading the way for the Avs on most nights this season, but perhaps the bug win over Chicago on Friday will propel some of his teammates to come along for the ride. Ryan O'Reilly also scored his second goal of the season in the victory.

Colorado's 6-2 dismantling of the 21-0-3 Chicago Blackhawks would not have been possible without Matt Duchene, who scored and added three assists in Friday night's victory.

Duchene's big night pushes him over a point-per-game pace with nine goals and 15 assists in 22 games. If this were an 82-game season, Duchene would be on pace for career highs in goals, assists, penalty minutes, plus-minus and game winning goals.

Matt Duchene (groin) returned to Colorado's lineup on Thursday.

Duchene missed one game due to the ailment. He made up for lost time by registering an assist and netting the game-winning goal.

Duchene will likely rejoin P.A. Parenteau and Jamie McGinn tonight. He is the Avs leading scorer so this is a big return for Colorado who take on Calgary tonight. Duchene only missed one game with a groin injury. He is playing 21+ minutes a game so he should have no problem getting on the stat sheet.
