Matt Duchene C COL 13 Hrs
Matt Duchene hasn't scored a goal since he returned to the lineup from an oblique injury.
He returned early from the ailment so it's reasonable to believe that he could still be dealing with an issue there. "It's frustrating," Matt Duchene said after Tuesday's 3-1 loss to Phoenix. "We've got a lot of guys in slumps right now. It's hard, and we're not getting the bounces, but at the same time you've got to work for them, and we didn't work hard enough for them in the first two periods tonight. We were pretty flat."

Matt Duchene has no goals and one assist in his last seven games.
He had a helper in Colorado's loss to Edmonton last Thursday, but he was quiet for the rest of the team's Western Canadian road trip. Duchene has 21 points in 25 games this season, so have faith that he'll be able to turn it around soon.

The Colorado Avalanche beat Calgary just a day after they suffered an 8-2 defeat to the Edmonton Oilers.
Obviously an Avalanche fan wouldn't have wanted to see their team get blown out in the first place, but it's an encouraging sign to see them shake that off. "Good teams have short memories on both sides of the win-loss column," Avs center Matt Duchene said. "We were upset with our effort at Edmonton, but you move on right away. Same thing now. We'll enjoy this one on the plane tonight but get back to work in Vancouver (on Saturday)." Colorado continues to far exceed expectations with a 20-7-0 record.

Matt Duchene was feeling under the weather during this past weekend's back-to-back situation against Minnesota.
The Avalanche don't play again until Thursday, so he has plenty of time to get back to full health. He hasn't picked up a point in his last three contests since he returned early from an oblique muscle injury.

Matt Duchene made a surprise appearance in Colorado's lineup Wednesday night after missing three games with an oblique injury.
It was thought that he wouldn't be able to play earlier in the week, but he was upgraded to a game-time decision prior to Wednesday's match-up versus St. Louis. Duchene admitted that he wouldn't have played if Paul Stastny wasn't able to go because of back spasms. Coach Patrick Roy confirmed that when he said: "Matt was about 95 percent and when he saw that Paul was not capable of playing, he said, 'I'm gonna go.' Obviously, I would have liked to see Matt have a full practice before playing tonight, his first game back, but unfortunately, things like this happen, and you have no choice." He had three shots and logged 17:42 of ice time. Feel free to activate him.

Matt Duchene (oblique) was back at practice Monday, but he's not expected to be available for Wednesday's contest against the St. Louis Blues.
The Avalanche have won three straight games without Duchene in the lineup. He still leads the team with 12 goals and 20 points in 19 outings.

Matt Duchene (oblique) will not travel with the Avalanche during their upcoming two-game road trip.
The Avalanche where hoping that he would be able to return as early as Saturday in Los Angeles, but it looks like that won't be the case. "There's no point in rushing this," Avalanche coach Patrick Roy said. "We need him at 100 percent, and after skating today, he realized he would not be able to play." Duchene is still a possibility for next Wednesday's contest against St. Louis.

Colorado Avalanche head coach Patrick Roy believes Matt Duchene will miss out about a week with an oblique injury.
If that's right, Duchene could play again somewhere in the range of Nov. 23 (at Los Angeles), Nov. 27 (home vs. St. Louis) or Nov. 29 at Minnesota. There's always the chance it could be quite a bit worse, but the Avs hope not, especially with a brutal upcoming schedule.
