Matt Duchene registered an assist and logged 18:52 of ice time in his return to the lineup in Game 6.

"It's a start, I guess," said Duchene, who was playing in his first game since March 29 because of an MCL injury. "You've got to learn to trust an injury like that coming back, and as the game went on I felt more confident with it. There's still a long way to go for me. But next game is Game 7, so you lay it all on the line." He started on the fourth line, but ended up back with Ryan O'Reilly as the game progressed.

Matt Duchene will suit up for Colorado in Game 6 of their opening round playoff series with the Wild on Monday.

It's not yet clear who his linemates will be, but he's certain to be a big boost for the Avs nonetheless. Joey Hishon will be a healthy scratch to make room for the young phenom.

Matt Duchene (knee) will be a game-time decision Monday night in Game 6.

He skated hard in the morning and will participate in the pregame warmup. It isn't clear where he'll play if he ends up dressing. He was with Ryan O'Reilly and P.A. Parenteau during the morning skate, but Jamie McGinn and Cody McLeod missed the session even though they are expected to play.

Patrick Roy said that the coaches will take a "serious look" at getting Matt Duchene (knee) back into the lineup for Game 6.

Duchene has been sidelined since March 29 with an MCL injury. He has been skating since Monday and partook in the morning skate on Saturday, so, if anything, he's getting very close. Duchene had 70 points during the regular season. The Avalanche lead the first-round series against the Wild 3-2.

Matt Duchene is progressing nicely in his recovery from a knee injury but won't play Saturday in Game 5 against Minnesota.

Duchene has been skating since Monday and is getting close to a return from an MCL injury that has sidelined him since March 29th. Originally, the Avs were saying there was no chance Duchene would play in Round 1, but Colorado coach Patrick Roy seemed to backpedal a little on that Friday. "We're very happy where he is right now," Roy said of Duchene. "Now, is he going to play in this series? We're not sure yet. We'll see." Seems like things are looking up for Duchene. R

That being said, Duchene might return before the end of the first round. That would obviously be a huge boost for the Avalanche after he recorded 70 points in 71 games in the regular season.
