Michael Del Zotto scored his third goal of the season in Nashville's blowout loss to Dallas on Friday night.

Del Zotto has struggled on the Predators, demonstrated by his healthy scratch last week. He has just 16 points through 64 games this season and 11 of them came when he was still in New York. That makes just five points in 22 games with his new team.

Michael Del Zotto served as a healthy scratch again in Sunday's win over Chicago.

It was the second time during Nashville's four-game road trip that he's watched from the press box. Del Zotto picked up an assist in Friday's game at Calgary, but the Predators dressed seven defensemen and he logged a mere 3:13 of ice time.

Michael Del Zotto was a healthy scratch Wednesday night against Vancouver.

"His game has slipped, and our coaching staff has talked to him about making solid decisions, solid plays and he has gotten away from that a little bit," coach Barry Trotz said. "We had some healthy people and we felt this would be a good time." He has posted a minus-6 his past three games and he's collected just two helpers in his last 14 outings. Victor Bartley took his spot in the lineup.

Michael Del Zotto recorded an assist in Saturday's 3-1 loss.

Del Zotto has just two points in 10 games since being acquired by the Predators. He's not being used with the man advantage in Nashville, which is killing his fantasy value.

The Nashville Predators want to see a strong finish to the season from Michael Del Zotto.

"When we first got him, I think he was trying to prove a point, and he came in and played really, really hard," coach Barry Trotz said. "I liked his battle skills and his puck skills. But I think just before the break, his play slipped a little bit, and I'm hoping he can get that intensity back to where it was. It's going to be very needed." He has been skating with Ryan Ellis in recent practices after playing primarily with rookie Seth Jones upon his arrival from the New York Rangers. Del Zotto has one assist and eight shots in eight games with Nashville since he was traded.

Michael Del Zotto earned an assist in Tuesday's win over Winnipeg for his first point as a member of the Predators.

He also had a plus-2 rating. Del Zotto has been paired with rookie Seth Jones since his arrival from the Rangers and coach Barry Trotz has liked the combination so far. "They're both guys who compete really hard, and they can do some things offensively." Trotz said. "As long as they're not both (jumping into the play) at the same time, I'm pretty happy about that."

Michael Del Zotto wasn't used on the power play in his Nashville debut on Thursday.

However, coach Barry Trotz may use him more in those type of situations in the future. "I liked a lot of things he did," Trotz said. "He had good compete for me, his puck management was really good. Especially since he hadn't played with us. I was really happy with his effort." Del Zotto logged 13:15 of ice time in Nashville's 2-1 win over Vancouver. He finished the match with one shot, one hit and two blocks.

Michael Del Zotto will make his Nashville debut Thursday night.

He will be paired with rookie blueliner Seth Jones. Coach Barry Trotz plans to "let him loose" which suggests that Del Zotto will be green lighted for offensive opportunities with the Predators.

The New York Rangers have reportedly traded Michael Del Zotto to the Nashville Predators in exchange for Kevin Klein.

Del Zotto has just 11 points in 42 games this season, but a change in scenery should help him. It will be interesting to see how much he's used with the man advantage as that will help determine his fantasy value moving forward. Although this deal has the potential to significantly bolster Del Zotto's worth, we would recommend employing a wait and see approach as the Predators already have a few other offensively gifted defensemen in Shea Weber, Roman Josi, and Seth Jones.

Michael Del Zotto has let the New York Rangers know that he prefers staying as a left defenseman.

The Rangers tried Del Zotto on the right side earlier in the season but he struggled and was not comfortable on the other side. "That's fine but then, if there are decisions to be made and you're not comfortable and you're not as versatile, sometimes you can be the odd man out," coach Alain Vigneault said. "I wasn't trying to get him more versatile. I thought with his skill set he could do it and he just feels a lot better on the left side." Del Zotto has two goals and 10 points in 37 games this season and cannot be recommended at this time.
