Michael Del Zotto D PHI 8 Days

Del Zotto will be a healthy scratch Thursday against the Devils, Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

He'll be replaced in the lineup by Luke Schenn, who had sat out the previous two games as a healthy scratch. Del Zotto is one of the more intriguing Flyers blueliners because of his offensive abilities, but like many of his compatriots on defense, he's not especially strong in his own zone, which could result in the occasional deployment in the press box.

Del Zotto will be a healthy scratch Tuesday against the Sharks, Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

The Flyers have been playing some brutal hockey of late, so it would seem coach Craig Berube is tinkering with his lineup in an attempt to awaken the team. Del Zotto isn't the only player underachieving during the team's four-game losing streak, but with no points and a minus-6 rating during that span, he certainly hasn't been pulling his weight.

Del Zotto (lower body) will play Saturday against the Blue Jackets, Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

With the Flyers deciding to roll seven blueliners for Saturday's matchup, we can assume Del Zotto will be one of them. He's racked up two goals and six assists in 17 games so far with his new team.

Del Zotto is questionable for Saturday's game against the Blue Jackets.

Del Zotto left Wednesday's game with the lower-body injury, and it caused him to miss Thursday's contest as well. With the return of multiple players earlier in the week, the team could take a precautionary route in their handling of Del Zotto.

Del Zotto (lower body) will not play Thursday against the Wild.

The severity of Del Zotto's injury remains unknown, but the impending return of Andrew MacDonald (lower body) and perhaps Luke Schenn (upper body) should the lessen the blow of his absence Thursday. Consider Del Zotto day-to-day until the Flyers provide more information regarding his condition.

Del Zotto suffered a lower-body injury Wednesday against the Rangers and is questionable for Thursday's game versus the Wild, Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Del Zotto went minus-1 in 16:09 before leaving the game after his only shift in the third period. The Flyers will see if he heals up enough over a night to take part in the team's morning skate, but if not, either Andrew MacDonald (foot) or Luke Schenn (upper body) could be cleared to return from their respective injuries to replace Del Zotto in the lineup.

Del Zotto left Wednesday's game against the Rangers in the third period with an undisclosed injury, Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Del Zotto skated just one shift in the period before heading for the locker room, with the Flyers declining to elaborate on his condition. The team is expecting Andrew MacDonald (foot) and Luke Schenn (upper body) back in the fold perhaps as soon as Thursday's game against the Wild, which could provide the team with some cushion if Del Zotto is forced to miss some time. Del Zotto had been enjoying something of a bounce-back in his first season with the Flyers, netting two goals and six assists over 17 games.

Del Zotto scored his first goal as a Flyer on Thursday, and it turned out to be the game-winner in a 4-1 decision over the Panthers.

Del Zotto's been surprisingly successful in his new environs, with seven points now in 13 games, but before Thursday, he hadn't been putting many pucks on net. In fact, he hadn't had more than one shot on goal in a game since Oct. 18 (when he had two) before Thursday's three-shot performance led to him breaking through with his first goal. MDZ's proven to be a more-than-competent fourth defenseman for fantasy purposes in the early going.

Del Zotto collected a helper in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Oilers.

Del Zotto has six points -- all assists -- in 12 games this season. Last season, he had just 16 points in 77 games. This season was characterized as a redemption season for the still-young and once-promising defenseman, and so far so good. That said, he's an offense-first defenseman, so use him accordingly.

Del Zotto assisted on two goals in the Flyers' 4-2 win over the Red Wings on Saturday.

With both Andrew MacDonald and Braydon Coburn ruled out for four weeks with lower-body injuries, Del Zotto saw a season-high 22:37 of action, making the most of it with the two dishes. The 24-year-old looked like he was on the verge of washing out of the league following his tepid play the previous two seasons with the Rangers and Predators, but he's done well during his time with the Flyers to salvage his stalling career. Del Zotto's spotty play in his own zone probably makes him less than ideal as a top-four contributor for the Flyers, but with five points in eight games, it's easy to recognize the fantasy appeal.
