After going pointless in four games, Hamilton has turned it up recently, recording three points (one goal) and a plus-4 rating in his last two games. With 14 points in 24 games on the season, Hamilton is well on his way to a career year in Beantown. The 21-year-old could reach 50 points in just his third NHL season. What a stud.

Hamilton returned to the ice Thursday after missing Wednesday's practice with the flu.

Hamilton -- who has 11 points in 20 games to date -- thus appears to be on track to suit up Friday against Columbus, barring any setbacks.

Hamilton was held out of practice Wednesday due to the flu, Amalie Benjamin of the Boston Globe reports.

Hamilton's status for Friday's game against the Blue Jackets may come in doubt if he doesn't improve over the next couple of days. The Bruins' defensemen have been bit by the injury bug this season, and could ill-afford to lose another for an extended period of time. If Hamilton can't go Friday, the team would likely need to make a move to add a sixth blueliner to the roster.

Hamilton opened the scoring Thursday against Montreal with a power-play goal late in the first period, but it turned out to be Boston's only offense in a 5-1 loss. He finished minus-3 with two PIM.

That big minus is quite startling to see from Hamilton -- or any Bruin -- but the B's don't get blown out too often. Nonetheless, Hamilton continues to deliver highly fantasy-relevant stats from the blue line.

Hamilton powered Thursday's 5-2 win over the Oilers with a power-play goal and two assists (one on the man advantage).

With the Bruins trailing 2-1 in the third period, Hamilton went to work. First, he collected the primary assist on Loui Eriksson's game-tying tally, then he assisted on Carl Soderberg's game-winning goal on the power play only 1:25 later, and just over a minute after that, he scored a power-play marker of his own. The third-year defender has been making serious strides with his offense in the absence of Zdeno Chara -- since Chara suffered his knee injury, Hamilton has posted eight points (two goals, six assists) in six games. He had just two points in nine games while Chara was around.

Hamilton scored a goal and added two assists in Saturday's win over Toronto. He was the game's top star.

This guy has stud written all over him. The Bruins are counting on him to help fill the gap created when Zdeno Chara got hurt. Those are tough skates to fill, but we're about to see him flourish in that situation.

With Zdeno Chara out, Dennis Seidenberg joined Hamilton on the Bruins' top defensive pairing in Friday's practice, the Boston Globe reports.

Per the Boston Herald, Hamilton took a shot off his hand during the session, but appears to be okay in advance of Saturday's game against the Maple Leafs. To date, Hamilton has notched two points in nine games, but in Chara's absence, he figures to be counted on heavily by the Bruins in the coming weeks, with an uptick in production plausible.

Hamilton picked up his first two points of the season Saturday when he scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in a 4-0 win over Buffalo.

This kid is going to be the backbone of the Bruins back end in just a couple of years. He and Zdeno Chara form an interesting pairing, with the latter mentoring the young stud to essentially replace him one day.
