Cullen (lower body) isn't expected to return Tuesday against the Coyotes, Eric Stromgren of The Tennessean reports.

Cullen resumed practicing last week and is being labeled as day-to-day by the Predators at this stage, but he wasn't a part of the team's line rushes at Tuesday's morning skate, signaling that he won't be making his return. He could be ready to go in time for the Preds' next game, scheduled for Thursday versus the Blackhawks.

Cullen (lower body) took part in practice Tuesday and is now considered day-to-day, according to the Predators' official website.

At this point, it's not known whether Cullen will accompany the team on its two-game road trip this weekend to Winnipeg (Friday) and Chicago (Saturday). Assuming Cullen doesn't suit up for either of those games, look for a possible return next Tuesday when the Preds open a three-game homestand against the Coyotes.

It's unclear at this point just how serious Cullen's injury is or when he will return; however, he must remain on IR for at least seven days. This means the earliest he could come back would be Oct. 14 against Calgary. Either way, it's best to keep him on your fantasy bench for the upcoming week.

Cullen (lower body) is skating outside of team practices, according to the Tennessean.

Despite Cullen's injury - which doesn't sound overly serious - his role on the team is somewhat in question this season after the Preds went out and picked up Mike Ribeiro, Derek Roy and Olli Jokinen in the offseason, moves that strengthen them considerably down the middle. Realistically speaking, Cullen is likely looking at a third-line role by the time he returns.

The Predators don't seem worried about the veteran forward's chances of missing any action when the regular season commences, but he could be held out of a few exhibitions as a result of the ailment. He'll look to build on his huge finish to the 2013-14 season, with a top-six role likely waiting for him at the start of the campaign.
