Jason Arnott has officially announced his retirement. Arnott scored 417 goals and 938 points in 1,244 career games with the Edmonton Oilers, New Jersey Devils, Dallas Stars, Nashville Predators, Washington Capitals, and St. Louis Blues. Although he was never an elite forward, he had a great career and played a big role in the New Jersey Devils winning the Stanley Cup in 2000. Through his prime, he was remarkably consistent, netting at least 20 goals for 10 straight campaigns. He's tied for 79th place on the NHL's all-time games played list and is 90th in points.

The St. Louis Blues decided not to sign Jason Arnott after all. The big center has flirted with the Blues and the New York Rangers lately, but injuries and age apparently have been too much for those teams to give him a shot.

Jason Arnott continues to skate with the St. Louis Blues, who are expected to make a decision on whether to sign the veteran center by Sunday. Arnott's deal with the Rangers earlier in the season fell apart when he was unable to pass a physical. Arnott had offseason knee surgery and said Tuesday that he wants to see how the knee responds to on-ice work. "If everything goes well and my body feels good, hopefully we can both say yes and move forward and contribute to win," Arnott said. Sounds like we should know more by the end of the week.

The St. Louis Blues are looking once again at unrestricted free agent Jason Arnott. Arnott inked a deal with the Rangers over a month ago but the center was unable to pass his physical voiding the deal. He played through shoulder and knee issues with St. Louis and with the Blues currently struggling, he is on their radar. "I talked to Jason's representative and he said he still has that burning desire to play," GM Doug Armstrong said. "It made me start to think, if you've accomplished everything he has, and you're into March and you still want to play, you have the passion for the game. He's going to join us this week on the road trip, make sure his body is with his mind and that he is ready to play. He did have some offseason surgery. We have information from the doctors that he is ready to go." Stay tuned.

Free agent center Jason Arnott will not be joining the New York Rangers after all. The team decided against proceeding in contract negotiations with Arnott after medical concerns emerged. The Rangers and the veteran center had agreed to a one-year deal worth $1.6 million on Saturday, pending a physical, but he isn't 100 percent healthy. Arnott played through shoulder and knee issues last season with St. Louis and he underwent arthroscopic knee surgery during the off-season.

The New York Rangers have signed Jason Arnott to a one-year deal. Arnott will reportedly come with an annual cap hit in the ballpark of $1.6-1.7 million. He'll provide the New York Rangers with some extra depth on their third or fourth line. He might also be a nice secondary scorer for the Rangers, but not to the point where he'll have any fantasy value in standard leagues.

The Vancouver Canucks might have some interest in unrestricted free agent Jason Arnott. The St. Louis Blues don't seem to want Arnott back, presumably because they want to get younger. However, with Ryan Kesler expected to be sidelined until December, the Vancouver Canucks could use another capable center. Arnott had 17 goals and 34 points in 72 games last season while averaging 14:05 minutes per contest.

There are conflicting reports on the health of Jason Arnott. The Blues are reporting that Arnott has a lower body injury but there are rumors abound that Arnott is not at all happy that he is not being played by coach Ken Hitchcock. Arnott did not practice on Saturday. Stay tuned.

Jason Arnott did not play in Game 3 due to a lower body injury. The veteran center did not skate on Wednesday when the injury was announced. The Blues are trailing the Los Angeles Kings 3-0 in the best-of-seven Western Conference semi-finals so his return to the lineup for Game 4 is sorely needed. Stay tuned as Arnott has only one goal in seven playoff matches this season after scoring 13 goals and a similar amount of assists in the regular season.
