Expect Joel Corvo to once again be a healthy scratch.
It looks as if he will not suit up against the Oilers Saturday afternoon. Coach Paul MacLean did say that could change. But for now, assume Corvo will sit in the press box.

Joe Corvo could be a healthy scratch Saturday against the Sharks.
Based on practice Friday, it looked as if Eric Gryba will get the call over Corvo. We trust this will not have a significant impact on your fantasy team's fortunes.

Joe Corvo won't be in the lineup for Ottawa's opener against Buffalo.

Joe Corvo is a more mature player than the last time he played with the Senators, which was five years ago.
Corvo requested a trade in 2008 because he wasn't happy with his playing time and didn't like the scrutiny involved with playing in Canda. "I'm more comfortable with it now, I faced a lot of scrutiny in Boston (in 2011-12)," Corvo said. "You've just got to understand you can't be on your phone all the time, looking at blogs and reading into anything, which I don't even do anymore." Now, at 36, he's also realistic about his ice time. "As I've gotten older I think I have a better idea of different pieces of a puzzle on a team," Corvo said. "I'm way more open minded as to where a coach feels I fit in on a team."

Joe Corvo feels better equipped to handle the pressure of playing in a Canadian market than he was earlier in his career.
Corvo previously spent parts of two seasons with the Ottawa Senators. "I'm more comfortable with it now, I faced a lot of scrutiny in Boston (in 2011-12)," Corvo said. "You've just got to understand you can't be on your phone all the time, looking at blogs and reading into anything, which I don't even do anymore." Corvo inked a one-year contract worth $900,000 and isn't expected to serve in a top-four role with Ottawa.

Joe Corvo's newly signed contract with the Ottawa Senators is worth $900,000 for the 2013-14 campaign.
Corvo had 17 points in 40 games with the Hurricanes last season. This is a nice, low-risk signing for the Senators, but at the age of 36, Corvo is on the downswing of his career.

The Ottawa Senators have reportedly signed Joe Corvo.
The terms of the deal are not yet known. Corvo had six goals and 17 points in 40 games with the Carolina Hurricanes in 2013. He's expected to start next season on the team's third pairing, but he might also get some playing time with the man advantage.

He said he may still sign one or two of them, but it will make them available to listen to offer from around the league. Carolina's UFA list includes Joe Corvo, Marc-Andre Bergeron, Bobby Sanguinetti, Chad LaRose, Tim Brent and Dan Ellis.
