The Toronto Maple Leafs will have some new-look lines with Tim Connolly promoted to the top unit - on left wing with center Tyler Bozak and right winger Phil Kessel -- when they entertain the Philadelphia Flyers tonight. Connolly replaces Joffrey Lupul, who could be gone for the rest of the regular season with a separated shoulder. "I thought Connolly has been a real strong player for us in the past three games," Carlyle said. "He has earned the opportunity. He's been strong down low on the power play. He's made a contribution."

Tim Connolly went from possible goat to hero in Wednesday's overtime win over Edmonton.
He committed a turnover just inside the Oilers' zone, which became a three-on-one break. However, Toronto captain Dion Phaneuf broke up the play with a great backcheck and sent the Leafs on their own three-on-one. Connolly converted a great pass from Joffrey Lupul to score his first goal in 18 games. The Toronto forward had been battling flu-like symptoms earlier in the day and required intravenous fluids, but he finished the contest with 16:21 of ice time. Connolly now has 26 points in 46 games.

Tim Connolly was moved to the wing alongside Mikhail Grabovski and Clarke MacArthur at practice on Monday.
Connolly has struggled mightily offensively of late with one assist in his last 10 games and no goals in his past 16. "Let's just see what happens," he said regarding the move. "They (Grabovski and Clarke MacArthur) are both really skilled and can make plays offensively. I've played wing in the past. Hopefully we can get something going."

Tim Connolly hasn't scored a goal in 16 consecutive games.
Connolly has just one goal in his last 26 games. "He's struggling out there and that's something we've got to figure out," Leafs head coach Ron Wilson said. Needless to say Connolly is in a major slump, but if healthy, he possesses the talent to go on a tear at any time.

Tim Connolly will center Toronto's first line on Monday night against Los Angeles.
He will take Tyler Bozak's spot between Phil Kessel and Joffrey Lupul to try to add some defensive awareness to the combination. "They've scored a lot of goals, but been on the ice for a lot," coach Ron Wilson said. "It's just a chance to find a little bit more balance in our scoring and balance in our defense." Bozak will likely stay with Kessel and Lupul during power play situations though.

Tim Connolly will likely face the boo-birds in his return to Buffalo on Friday night.
"Injuries surely played a part," said Buffalo radio personality Chris (The Bulldog) Parker. "Producing in the playoffs was a problem. Mostly he wasn't (Chris) Drury or (Daniel) Briere and was left behind after they left and bore the brunt of the team falling apart after July of '07." Connolly has been productive with the Maple Leafs when he's been healthy this season, with 15 points in 18 games. He is presently playing on a dependable two-way line, with Colby Armstrong and Clarke MacArthur, and is coming off a two-goal performance against Carolina on Tuesday.
