It appears Connolly will be playing in the AHL for the Marlies. He isn't fantasy relevant.

Tim Connolly will play for the AHL Toronto Marlies.

Connolly successfully cleared waivers. In the new CBA, teams can't dodge a players full cap hit by sending them to the minors, so it's safe to say that the Leafs simply didn't feel there was a spot for him on their 23-player roster. The Maple Leafs haven't ruled out the possibility of calling him up at a later date.

Tim Connolly has successfully cleared waivers.

The question now is if the Leafs will attempt to trade him with the knowledge that they'd almost certainly need to retain part of his cap hit in the process. The Leafs might also simply buyout the remainder of his contract.

Tim Connolly might have been picked up by the New York Islanders.

We'll know for certain at 12:00 pm ET, but for now, it seems probable that he'll be part of the Islanders' in the near future. Connolly might have some fantasy value if they give him a shot on one of their top two lines, but we can't recommend picking him up at this time.

Connolly never lived up to what the Leafs expected to get out of them when they signed him. If he does end up getting placed on Waivers it depends who picks him, to really determine his fantasy value.

As expected, Tim Connolly has been placed on waivers by the Toronto Maple Leafs.

This move was anticipated when Connolly didn't participate in Thursday's practice. Toronto might attend to trade him if he clears and retain part of his salary in the process. However, they also have the option of using one of their compliance buyouts on him.

Tim Connolly did not practice on Thursday and it is being reported that Toronto will place him on waivers.

If he clears then the Leafs will probably buy out the final year of his contract to open up another roster spot. Connolly registered 13 goals and 36 points in 70 games with Toronto during his first year with the club in 2011-12.
