Carlo Colaiacovo D STL 20 Days

Along with Steve Ott and Brenden Morrow, the St. Louis Blues aren't expected to re-sign Carlo Colaiacovo.

The oft-injured defenseman showed fantasy potential earlier in his career, but at this point, he's probably just happy to have an NHL job. We'll see if that happens this summer.

Carlo Colaiacovo will not play Saturday night against Dallas as he will be a healthy scratch.

Although he plyed with energy against the Wild Thursday night, the veteran will give way to Ian Cole against the Stars.

Carlo Colaiacovo will be in the Blues' lineup against the Flyers Saturday afternoon.

He has been a healthy scratch so often this season that he has a permanent seat in the press box. That said, Colaiacovo will get a chance to play against the streaking Flyers at the expense of Ian Cole who will sit this game out.

Carlo Colaiacovo potted his first goal of the season in Sunday's shootout win over Minnesota.

Carlo Colaiacovo sat out 17 consecutive games as a healthy scratch before returning to the lineup on Wednesday night.

"He was good, moved the puck," coach Ken Hitchcock said. "I thought that pair was very good." He played alongside Roman Polak in the contest and could dress again in Friday's meeting at Anaheim.

Carlo Colaiacovo has been a healthy scratch for over a month.

In years' past Colaiacovo missed plenty of games due to injuries. However, this season the veteran rearguard can't seem to crack the Blues' lineup primarly due to the team's depth and his mediocre play. Colaiacovo seems to be taking a mature approach to his benching. "I've got to keep waiting for my chance and keep doing the things I need to do both on and off the ice to make sure I'm ready when the chance comes," Colaiacovo said. It goes without saying that he is no longer a fantasy factor.

Carlo Colaiacovo was a plus-two Saturday.

He replaced the injured Roman Polak on the blueline. Colaiacovo has been seeing ice time as a forward as the Blues were hurting up front but now will use him on the blueline as they have only six healthy rearguards.

Carlo Colaiacovo lined up as a forward Tuesday night and he may do so again Thursday against Montreal.

If the Blues get Vladimir Sobotka and/or Jaden Schwartz back from injury then Colaiacovo could return to the press box. He saw 5:40 of ice time and finished with two penalty minutes in his fourth-line role versus San Jose.

Carlo Colaiacovo will get back into St. Louis' lineup Monday night.

His only appearance this season came on Nov. 25 against Minnesota when he posted an assist and logged 14:17 of ice time. Ian Cole will head to the press box to make room for him.

Carlo Colaiacovo will make his season debut Monday night.

He is going to play whether or not Kevin Shattenkirk, who has the flu, is able to dress. "He's been ready for a week," coach Ken Hitchcock said. "He's a great puck distributor, he's smart, he plays sneaky good minutes. He's a real complementary player. He can play minutes killing penalties, he can play on the power play ... he can add to the group."
