Gustav Nyquist RW DET 9 Days

Nyquist scored his team's lone goal in Wednesday's 2-1 shootout loss to the Maple Leafs.

The winger's point total is now 17 through 29 games, but his 13 goals are good enough for 10th in the league at this point. Wednesday marked Nyquist's first point in his last four games, so hopefully the production will start coming more consistently now.

Nyquist registered a goal in the final minute of Tuesday's game against the Panthers, but the Red Wings fell one tally shy in a 4-3 loss.

The goal was Nyquist's team-leading 12th and his third and five games. The Red Wings attack is still built around Henrik Zetterberg and Pavel Datsyuk, but Nyquist should take over as the team's top playmaker within the next season or two.

Nyquist lit the lamp for the ninth time this season in a 5-0 pasting of the Blue Jackets on Tuesday.

Nyquist has been a little feast-or-famine this season, as he has 12 points in 18 games despite two four-game scoreless streaks. He is a rising star, however, and is a solid play most nights.

Nyquist tallied a goal and an assist in Sunday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Lightning.

Nyquist scored the game tying goal in the third period on his eighth goal of the season. He scored 28 last year to go along with 20 assists, and appears to be well on his way to surpassing that and reaching the 50 point mark.

Nyquist ended a four-game scoring drought Friday, scoring two goals and an assist in a win over the Kings.

The second-line winger now has seven goals and nine points in 10 games on the season. He tied for the both the NHL-lead in power-play goals (four) and game-winning goals (two). Skating on the top power-play unit, Nyquist should surpass the career-high 28 goals and 48 points he recorded last season.

Nyquist scored for the fourth straight game and added an assist in Friday's win over Toronto.

What a start for Nyquist, who now has 16 goals in his last 20 games, dating back to next season. He likely won't keep this ridiculous goal-scoring pace up, but if he remains on the top line and top power-play unit, there is no reason the Goose can't surpass the career-high 48 points he recorded last season.

Nyquist netted a goal in Wednesday's shootout loss to the Bruins.

The tally was Nyquist's third in as many games to start the season, and the young winger is proving that last year's line of 28/20/48 in 57 games was no fluke. Don't expect him to spend any time in the AHL this year either, as he has developed into one of the more potent offensive threats for an aging Red Wings squad.

Nyquist scored his second goal of the season in Saturday's 3-2 loss to Anaheim. He now has a goal in each of Detroit's first two games.

He had a strong second half last season and it looks like he's picked up right where he left off. Congrats to those of you who stashed him on your rosters -- your gut call was a good one.

Nyquist scored the game-winning goal, a power-play marker, in a 2-1 win over Boston on Thursday night.

Nyquist is off to a stellar start after an excellent rookie season in 2013-14. He has an immense amount of talent and will be a fantasy force this season and for years to come.

Nyquist (knee) is expected to open the season on Detroit's third line, MLive.com's Ansar Khan reports.

Nyquist seems fully recovered from the knee injury he battled late in camp, but with the Wings relatively healthy at forward (with the exception of Pavel Datsyuk), the 25-year-old will have to settle for bottom-six duties for the time being. Last season's 28-goal performance should still carry a lot of weight for Nyquist, so it might not be long before he gets elevated to the second line.
