Read missed six contests due to the head injury. "I've gotta say it was a long two weeks watching the boys battle out there and I couldn't be a part of it," Read said. "I felt good. (Berube) talked about just getting the first shift, getting the hit, finding your legs and having fun out there. It was a seesaw battle out there, but it's good to get the first two points." Read logged 18:42 minutes rather than being eased back into the lineup.

Flyers GM Paul Holmgren explained that Read initially passed the baseline tests, but he hasn't been feeling right. Read missed his fourth consecutive contest on Wednesday. "It's safe to say he has symptoms of a concussion," Holmgren concluded. Read will miss at least two more games, but it's important to stress that there's no timetable for his return.
