Defenseman Dylan Olsen was traded to the Florida Panthers along with Jimmy Hayes with Kris Versteeg and minor leaguer Philippe Lefevbrve.
Olsen has not been able to crack the Blackhawks defensive corps since playing 28 regular season and one playoff game in the 2011-12 season, spending time in the AHL. The 22-year-old was a first round pick of the Blackhawks and 28th overall in the 2009 Draft but will get a fresh start in Florida. We cannot recommend him at this time.

Dylan Olsen will play for the Rockford IceHogs during the NHL lockout.
Olsen played 28 games in the NHL last season and had a real chance to break training camp with the Blackhawks, but with the current lockout, he will get a chance to play a lot of minutes in the AHL and be NHL-ready once the league resumes action.

Dylan Olsen is hopeful that he can earn a roster spot out of training camp.
"I've taken in what they told me to work on," he said. "Hopefully I can prove to them I'm ready for that position come September." Olsen, who has been improving his skating and shot over the summer, suited up in 28 games with the Blackhawks last season and he appeared in 44 with the team's AHL affiliate in Rockford. If Chicago can swing trades with either Steve Montador or Niklas Hjalmarsson involved then Olsen's chances of sticking in the NHL would get better.
