Jared Spurgeon scored his first goal of 2013 in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Phoenix Coyotes.

Spurgeon has two points in 10 games this season. He took a big step forward in 2011-12 with his 23-point campaign. He's still averaging 3:15 power-play minutes per game this season, so we wouldn't dismiss the possibility of him putting up far better numbers in the second half of the season.

Minnesota defenseman Jared Spurgeon was reunited with Ryan Suter for Saturday's practice.

Spurgeon started the season alongside the former Predator, but his spot was assigned to Jonas Brodin after Spurgeon was forced out of the lineup with a foot injury. Despite playing well on that pairing, Brodin skated alongside Nate Prosser during practice.

Matt Kassian was sent down to the AHL in order for Spurgeon to come off of IR. Spurgeon will be paired with Justin Falk and Nate Prosser will be scratched. Spurgeon has 1 assist in 3 games this season.

Jared Spurgeon (foot) has been activated off injured reserve and will return to the lineup Tuesday night.

Spurgeon played in only three games before being placed on the IR on Jan. 22. The 23-year-old defenseman had an assist and a -3 rating before getting hurt. He'll likely play the Wild's top two defensive pairings, but his offensive numbers could be limited by the presence of Ryan Suter. He should be monitored from waivers in most formats.

There is a chance that Jared Spurgeon (bruised foot) returns to action on Tuesday.

Spurgeon is on the injured reserve so a move would have to be made before his return to the 23 man roster. He has not had a full practice as of yet so his return may be put off for another game or two. He was placed on the injured list Jan. 22 so he is eligible to return at any time.
