Bouma will be a healthy scratch Friday against the Penguins, Kristen Odland of the Calgary Herald reports.

Bouma will give way to Matt Stajan, who himself was a healthy scratch for the Flames' previous game. It will be just the second time Bouma will sit out this season, as he previously missed a contest in October due to a facial injury. The forward has five goals and nine points in 29 games.

Bouma potted his fifth goal of the season and added an assist in Saturday's win over Ottawa.

Bouma has collected four points (two goals) in his last four games and is up to eight points in 18 games on the season. Although the Flames' scoring has been spread out this season, Bouma is currently playing on the fourth line, seeing limited minutes and no power-play time. Considering the 24-year-old only registered five goals and 15 points in 2013-14, Bouma is well on his way to a career year in 2014-15.

Bouma contributed a goal and an assist in the Flames' 6-4 win over the Panthers.

During an afternoon in which a total of eight players posted multi-point outings, it was Bouma who was awarded the game's first star. He found twine on a shot from the slot with 2:18 remaining in the contest to break a 4-4 tie and lift the Flames to another victory. After going without a point in his first 10 games of the season, Bouma has now tallied three goals and an assist over his last four contests.

Bouma scored his first goal of the season Thursday in a 5-0 victory against Carolina.

Amongst quite a bit of young scoring talent, Bouma is not going to be expected to contribute all that much on the offensive end. He has two points in eight games thus far.

Bouma (face) returned to the Flames' lineup Friday against the Blue Jackets.

Bouma was dealing with a facial injury that held him out of Wednesday's contest, but took the ice in morning skate Friday and is back in the lineup.

Bouma (face) was on the ice for Friday's morning skate, Randy Sportak of the Calgary Sun reports.

Coach Bob Hartley said that the Flames are still pondering a number of game-time decisions for Friday's tilt with the Blue Jackets, so despite his presence at morning skate, there's no guarantee Bouma will suit up for the game. A concussion has already been ruled out for Bouma, but his facial injuries could still be bothersome enough to send him to the press box for a second straight contest.

Bouma has a facial injury and will not play Wednesday, the Calgary Sun's Randy Sportak reports.

It was reported earlier today that he would take the ice Wednesday, but his status apparently changed. He does not have a concussion, but the facial injury will hold him out and he should be considered day-to-day.

Bouma (upper body) is okay and will play Wednesday, Randy Sportak of the Calgary Sun reports.

Bouma suffered the minor injury Tuesday after taking a hit from Paul Gaustad, but it appears that it won't be enough to keep him out Wednesday. Assuming nothing gets aggravated in the game, he should be fine going forward.

Bouma signed a one-year contract with the Flames on Wednesday.

Bouma is coming off his first full season in the NHL, in which the center supplied five goals and 10 assists over 78 games. The 24-year-old probably has room to grow as a scorer given his relative youth, but he may not amount to more than a second- or third-line center at his peak.
