The Islanders activated Cizikas (upper body) off IR on Monday.
With Michael Grabner sidelined with a lower body injury, Cizikas will slide back into the lineup on the team's bottom six for Monday's game against the Devils. The center recorded four goals and four assists in 26 games before getting hurt.

Cizikas is expected to be healthy and available to the Islanders on Monday. He has missed the past two games after taking a blow from a stick to the head/shoulder area. Cizikas should once again center the fourth line for the Islanders.

Cizikas was able to practice Friday and took part in the Islanders' optional morning skate Saturday, but the team apparently wants to give him some additional time to recover. Monday's game against the Devils could represent a reasonable target for Cizikas' activation.

Cizikas took a stick to the head/shoulder area Saturday and has been out of the lineup ever since. He is on the IR but could be back in the lineup as soon as this Saturday if all goes well.

The IR placement will keep Cizikas out of the lineup for at least the next three games, as he won't be eligible for activation until Sunday. The Islanders haven't provided a clear recovery timetable for the fourth-line center, who has notched eight points in 26 games this season.

Cizikas didn't make the trip to Minnesota so he is still suffering the consequences of getting hit up high with the stick of Vladimir Tarasenko. Although the Islanders have not released a timetable for his return he is not expected to be out long term.

Cizikas has been a relatively frequent visitor to the score sheet of late, with seven points in his last 10 games. That's an enormous spike for Cizikas after he managed just a single point in his first 16 games.

Though the Islanders value Cizikas more for his forechecking skills in the team's bottom-six forwards, he's not a total drain on the offensive end. He might not enjoy a run of scoring production like this again this season, however, so his fantasy utility might be at its peak right now.
