Cam Fowler (upper body muscle) is still day-to-day.

Fowler sat out Saturday's game against the Kings after suffering the injury in the first period Wednesday. It has been anything but a good fantasy season from Cam Fowler who has only seven assists in 32 games this season. He had an outstanding rookie season with 10 goals and 30 assists as he came into the NHL as an 18-year-old but has regressed offensively with only 29 points as a sophomore and now this. He is only 21 and most blueliners have yet to see one game of NHL action at his age, let alone three seasons, so grab him late in deep pools next season.

Fowler is not expected to make his return to the lineup tonight.

Cam Fowler is doubtful for the game against the Kings as he continues to recover from an upper-body muscle injury, suffered in the first period Wednesday against Colorado.

"It's just sore," the defenseman said. "It's kind of a day-by-day thing. Got to see how it goes and go from there. (I'm) keeping an eye on it. I'm doing a good job of whatever we have to do to get it to feel better. We'll see." If Fowler is unable to play, then Toni Lydman will draw in. Lydman has often been the odd man out in the blue-line mix as he has appeared in only three of the past 10 games.

Fowler was hurt in the first period of Wednesday's game and did not return. Monitor his status to see if he'll play tomorrow. He has had a disappointing season (0G, 7A, -7, 32 games) after totaling 40 and 29 points in his two previous seasons.

Cam Fowler (upper body) didn't participate in Thursday's practice.

Fowler left Wednesday's contest due to what Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau described as spasms. "Like an engine that didn't get oiled or something, all of a sudden it stiffened up," Boudreau said. "Watching where it happened, it was a very little thing. I think he just twisted his body the wrong way and it's just got to wait for the spasms to calm down. And when they do, he's going to be eligible to play." He's doubtful for Friday's practice.

Consider him day-to-day until more information is released about his injury.

Cam Fowler left Wednesday's contest due to an upper body injury.

"I don't think it was much but sometimes it doesn't take a lot to get hurt," Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau said after the game. Consider Fowler day-to-day for now.
