Seguin (knee) will not play in Saturday's game against the Lightning, but he may return for Tuesday's game in Philadelphia, NHL.com's Mark Stepneski reports.

Seguin resumed skating with his teammates this week, and Dallas coach Lindy Ruff said the superstar center is approaching day-to-day status. If he's not ready by Tuesday, Seguin could perhaps return for Thursday's game in Carolina.

Seguin (knee) is making progress toward a return to action, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports.

While a specific timetable for his return to action has yet to be outlined, the center appears to be ahead of schedule on that front. "Tyler is really closing in on day to day' for us," coach Lindy Ruff said of Seguin, who was on the ice with his teammates Thursday. "So I would say probably within a weekor sooner. It depends on how he responds to some heavy workouts here today and tomorrow."

Seguin (knee) resumed light skating on his own after Saturday's practice.

It's only a preliminary step in the recovery process for Seguin, who anticipates a return to action within the next 2-to-4 weeks. He plans to steadily increase his activity in the next few days, but it likely won't be until he starts taking full contact with the team that a more precise return date will be determined.

Seguin (knee) is aiming to return in the 4-to-6-week range of his 3-to-8-week timetable, the Dallas Morning News reports.

Seguin, who sustained the MCL tear to his knee Feb. 13, has been able to resume working out off the ice, but has yet to receive clearance to skate. The Stars center hopes he'll be able to get on the ice within the next couple of days, but realistically, he's still at least two weeks away from a return.

Seguin (knee) could be forced to miss as much as eight weeks depending on his progress in rehab, Renaud Lavoie of TVA reports. The timetable for Seguin's expected return as been inched back twice already, going from 2-to-4 week, to 3-to-6 weeks, and now 3-to-8 weeks. Given the wide range of possibilities, something on the longer half of the latest timetable seems to be the most likely. The loss of Seguin could ultimately cost the Stars a playoff berth, barring accelerated progress.

The Stars revised Seguin's (knee) projected recovery timetable from 2-to-4 weeks to 3-to-6 weeks, NHL.com's Mark Stepneski reports. The updated timetable will push Seguin's probable return to no earlier than the second week of March, at which point the Stars could find themselves far off the pace for a Wild Card spot out West. The onus will fall on Jason Spezza to keep the Stars' top-six ranks humming in Seguin's absence, but with injuries to Patrick Eaves (concussion) and Ales Hemsky (lower body) further compromising depth at forward, that task becomes even more difficult task. Seguin ranks third in the NHL in points (59) and fourth in goals (29) this season.

Seguin is expected to miss 2-to-4 weeks due to the knee injury he suffered in Friday's win over the Panthers, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports. The injury could be the death knell to the Stars' dimming playoff hopes. The team has already moved Seguin to injured reserve to open up a roster spot for AHL call-up Travis Morin, but he nor any other forward on the roster is capable of replacing the star center's point-per-game production. Fantasy owners will have to scan the waiver wire or explore the trade market for a fill-in while Seguin remains out of commission until at least early March.

Seguin (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports.Seguin was forced out of Friday's win over the Panthers after taking a low hit from defenseman Dmitry Kulikov. Coach Lindy Ruff stated rather ominously after the game that Seguin would "miss some time," but the full extent of his absence has yet to be determined. At the very least, though, Seguin will be forced to sit out a week by virtue of landing on IR, covering three games for the Stars. The team recalled Travis Morin from AHL Texas in a corresponding move to assume Seguin's roster spot.

Seguin suffered a lower-body injury in Friday's win over Florida. He was helped off the ice and didn't return. Seguin will be re-evaluated Saturday and will miss "some time," Lindy Ruff said.Seguin was sent sprawling to the ice in the third period when Florida defenseman Dmitry Kulikov caught him low and upended him just inside the Florida blueline. Kulikov was assessed a major penalty for clipping and a game misconduct on the play, while Seguin had to be helped to the dressing room. Seguin is going to be re-evaluated Saturday, but it looks like he will miss some time.
