The Islanders acquired forward Yuri Alexandrov from the Bruins on Tuesday.

Boston's second-round pick in the 2006 draft is playing in his native Russia this season after posting 6-13-19 in 66 games with Providence (AHL) in 2010-11. He has not appeared in an NHL game.

Yuri Alexandrov has inked a contract with SKA St. Petersburg of the KHL.

He had 19 points and 44 penalty minutes in 66 contests with Providence in the AHL last season.
