Lindback made 29 saves on 32 shots in Saturday's loss to the Predators.

Lindback stopped the first 20 shots he faced on Saturday, before giving up three goals on the next six. The former-Predator isn't expected to see too much action this season, with Kari Lehtonen the clear No.1 goalie in Dallas. If Lehtonen does happen to go down with an injury at any point, Lindback could be worth a fantasy pickup behind an offensively talented Stars team.

Lindback was the first goalie off the ice and is expected to receive the starting nod Saturday against the Predators, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports.

So long as No. 1 goalie Kari Lehtonen stays relatively healthy this season, Lindback projects to see only minimal usage this season. However, it looks like coach Lindy Ruff will ease Lehtonen into his heavy workload, as he'll get an early-season breather. Lindback is expected to match up against Nashville netminder Pekka Rinne, but don't count on him to deliver impressive results.

With Jussi Rynnas placed on waivers Monday, Lindback looks poised to open the season as the backup to Kari Lehtonen, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

Lindback's standing appeared to be in some doubt when both he and Rynnas were inked to one-way contracts in the summer, but Lindback ended up separating himself through his performance during the preseason. After he stoned the Blues 27 times on 29 shots in Saturday's win and earned the praise of coach Lindy Ruff, Lindback was able to secure the role for good. In spite of his solid camp, Lindback still figures to collect dust in the regular season, with the Stars set to lean heavily on Kari Lehtonen so long as he stays healthy. The 26-year-old Lindback's spotty NHL track record (34-35-0, 2.74 GAA, .904 save percentage over 85 games) doesn't suggest he'll ever develop into a capable No. 1 netminder.

Anders Lindback has signed a one-year contract with the Dallas Stars for $925,000.

Lindback will back up Dallas starter Kari Lehtonen and may play 25-30 games. He could play more if the injury-prone Lehtonen, as he usually does, misses considerable amount of time.

The Lightning will not give Anders Lindback a qualifying offer.

Lindback will become an unrestricted free agent July 1. General manager Steve Yzerman said that Lindback will still be considered. He'd require an offer equal to $2.2 million. "We are going to look and see what is out there, but (Lindback) is on the list," Yzerman said. Lindback had a 8-12-2 record, 2.90 goals-against average and .891 save percentage for the Lighting this past season.

The Lightning are still considering re-signing Anders Lindback.

The team has been busy signing its restricted free agents in recent weeks, but no deal has been struck with the back-up net minder. "He's still in the mix," general manager Steve Yzerman said. "They understand what I'm trying to do at this point and he's still a guy we're considering signing for next year." Lindback posted a 8-12-2 record, 2.90 goals-against average and .891 save percentage this past season, while earning $2.2 million

Anders Lindback disappointed his team yet again, allowing three goals on 20 shots before getting the hook in Game 4's loss to Montreal on Tuesday.

The Bolts were a different team with Lindback tending the pipes instead of the injured Ben Bishop, who put together a Vezina calibre season that led the team to the playoffs. The 25 year old Lindback went 0-3 in the playoffs with a .881 save percentage and 3.91 goals against average.

With Ben Bishop hurt, the Lightning have been forced to go with Lindback in their first round series against Montreal. Lindback has a 3.49 GAA and .888 save percentage in three straight playoff losses and consequently Tampa Bay is in danger of being eliminated Tuesday night.

Lightning goaltender Anders Lindback stopped 28 Montreal shots Sunday night but allowed a relative softy on the first shot he faced, and the Canadiens went on to prevail 3-2.

Lindback, playing in place of injured first-stringer Ben Bishop (elbow), is now 0-3 in the postseason; Tampa Bay is down 0-3 to the Canadiens in the teams' first-round, best-of-seven playoff series. Lindback let down the Lightning only 11 seconds into Sunday's game when he failed to stop a fairly easy wrister from Montreal's Rene Bourque. The Canadiens never trailed in the game. Lindback is not only 0-3 in the series but also has an unimpressive GAA of 3.49 and a save percentage of .891.

Anders Lindback will start on Sunday after being pulled in Friday's game.

Lindback isn't an ideal playoff starter, but Tampa Bay doesn't have a lot of options with Ben Bishop hurt. The alternative to Lindback would have been Kristers Gudlevskis, who had just one game worth of NHL experience before he replaced Lindback late in Game 2.
