Anders Lindback G BUF 2 Days

Lindback stopped 35 of 39 shots but it wasn't enough as the Sabres lost 4-3 to Dallas on Monday.

Lindback actually had the lead three different times in this one but wasn't able to hang on for what would have been just his fourth win of the season. The Swede has just one win in eight starts with Buffalo, a 44-save 2-1 masterpiece against the Bruins on March 17.

Lindback will tend the nets Monday against Dallas.

Lindback has won just one win in his past eight appearances with the Sabres, but still sports a very good .930 save percentage. The Stars have won five of their past six, including recent wins over Pittsburgh and Chicago, so it looks like the Sabres may end up on the losing side again. It's not advisable to start Lindback. Even though he's playing well, the Stars offense is scary and the Sabres don't score enough to even give Lindback a chance to win.

Lindback is in line to start Monday's game against the Stars, Paul Hamilton of WGR 550 reports.

Lindback, who gave way to Matt Hackett in Saturday's 3-0 loss to the Predators, returns to the Sabres' net Monday, with a 1-4-2 record to go along with a 2.49 GAA and .930 save percentage in eight appearances for Buffalo to date.

Lindback gave up three goals on 27 shots in Friday's loss to New Jersey.

Not a great outing for Lindback, who was beaten at even-strength on all three goals. The 26-year-old falls to 3-12-2 on the season with a .903 save percentage and 3.14 GAA. He has just one win in his last nine games, making him an unattractive fantasy option in most leagues. While he's looked decent since arriving in Buffalo and is starting lots of games, the 26-year-old lacks team support, so don't expect him to record many victories.

Lindback will start Friday's game against the Devils, Paul Hamilton of WGR 550 reports.

Lindback has been impressive since the trade to Buffalo, with a 2.41 GAA and .934 save percentage through seven games (six starts). He still only has a 1-3-2 record to show for it, as his strong work can't inspire the Sabres to competence on the offensive end.

Lindback made 44 saves on 45 shots, then was perfect in the shootout to come away with a 2-1 win over Boston on Tuesday.

Now that's how you put a bad team on your back. Despite Buffalo's struggles, Lindback has looked like a new man since coming over from the Stars, as he's posted a save percentage of .909 or higher in all seven of his appearances (six starts) for the league's worst team. This was the best one yet, and it's got to inspire a little spark of hope for the future in Sabres fans.

Lindback will be in the net for Tuesday's game against the Bruins, Mike Harrington of the Buffalo News reports.

The Sabres were expected to go with backup Matt Hackett for Tuesday's nod, but after much discussion, coach Ted Nolan said the team decided to stick with Lindback for the second straight night while the goalie continues to play well. It's worth bearing in mind that "playing well" takes on a different definition for the Sabres, who don't exactly have a high standard for production given their league-worst 45 points. Lindback has posted a 2.70 GAA and .924 save percentage over his six appearances (five starts) since joining the Sabres, but an 0-3-2 record to show for it.

Lindback stopped 35 of 38 shots, but was on the losing end of Monday's 4-3 shootout contest against the Capitals.

Lindback has actually been playing well lately, recording at least 30 saves in three straight, but he's been the hard-luck loser in all three as his losing streak now reaches seven straight. At just 2-11-2 and with little offensive or defensive support around him, the 26-year-old remains a risky fantasy proposition regardless of his recent level of play.

Lindback will start in net Monday against the Capitals, Bill Hoppe of Olean Times Herald report.

Lindback took the loss in his last outing despite stopping 31 of the 32 shots he faced. He'll get another nod in net Monday, but faces a tough challenge in the Capitals, who sit at eighth in the league in scoring (2.89 G/GP).

Lindback made 31 saves in Saturday's 2-0 loss to the Rangers. He allowed one goal.

He didn't have much of a chance on the goal he allowed -- he was screened badly and the puck somehow made it through a maze of players. He deserved the game's third star, but he remains a sketchy fantasy play. This is Buffalo, after all.
