Ryan Carter C MIN 11 Hrs

Carter (upper body) was present for Friday's practice, John Shipley of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Carter looks like he's just about ready to return from the upper-body injury that has kept him out of action for the last three games. Because he's missed beyond the seven-day minimum required for his IR stint, Carter could be activated in advance of Saturday's game against the Predators if coach Mike Yeo believes his health is sufficient. If that's the case, Carter would likely be plugged in on the fourth line.

Carter (upper body) skated Tuesday morning, Chad Graff of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

It doesn't look as though a long-term absence is in the picture for Carter, but since he was placed on IR over the weekend with a retroactive date of Dec. 11, he'll still have to miss the Wild's next two games. He could be ready to go as soon as he's eligible for activation Saturday against Nashville.

The Wild placed Carter (upper body) on IR, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

It appears that Carter's injury is a little more serious than originally expected, so he'll sit out the next couple games to recover. The team recalled Brett Sutter from AHL Iowa to take Carter's spot on the roster.

Carter will miss Saturday's game against the Coyotes due to an upper-body injury, Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Since the Wild held an optional skate Saturday, it wasn't known that Carter was nursing an injury until coach Mike Yeo met with the press about two hours prior to the game against the Coyotes. It appears Carter is being considered day-to-day at this time, with Stu Bickel entering the lineup Saturday in his stead.

Carter scored a goal for the second straight game and added an assist Thursday in a win over the Sabres.

Considering Carter's scored those two goals on two shots in fourth-line ice time, he's not likely to continue producing offensively. But he does have eight points in 14 games this year and could be headed for a career-best campaign.

Carter scored his first goal of the year -- a shorthanded tally -- Tuesday, but was the only one among the Wild to penetrate Cory Schneider's shield in a 3-1 loss to the Devils.

Although Carter's blowing away his normal scoring pace with six points in 13 games, there's not much for fantasy owners to get excited about here. His career high for points in a season is 15, so he could at least break that this year.

Carter (lower body) will be in the lineup Tuesday against the Penguins, Chad Graff of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Carter was generally expected to play all along Tuesday, but the Wild just wanted to assess his condition during pregame warmups before signing off on his return to the lineup. He'll likely assume a spot on the Wild's fourth line for Tuesday's contest.

Head coach Mike Yeo expects Carter (lower body) to play Tuesday against the Penguins.

A final decision on Carter's status will not be made until pregrame warmups, but it appears he will play Tuesday after participating in the Wild's morning skate without issue.

Carter (lower body) practiced with the team Monday, Rachel Blount of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Carter was injured Thursday against the Sharks, and missed Saturday's game against the Stars as well. The center has five assists in nine games to date, and could be back in the lineup Tuesday against the Penguins.

Carter will not play Saturday against the Stars due to a lower-body injury, Chad Graff of the St. Paul Star Tribune reports.

Carter saw his streak of three consecutive games with an assist come to an end Thursday against the Sharks, and apparently, wasn't able to escape the game fully healthy, either. Fortunately, Erik Haula (head) has been cleared to return after sitting the last two games, so he'll step in to fill in for Carter in the Wild's bottom six.
