Ben Scrivens was on the ice Saturday morning for Toronto's optional skate.

He obviously made it back from a family funeral and will dress as James Reimer's backup Saturday night. Drew MacIntrye won't get his chance to dress after all.

Ben Scrivens has temporarily left the Toronto Maple Leafs to attend his grandfather's funeral.

Scrivens will then rejoin the team in Boston on Saturday. It's unclear if he'll serve as the backup netminder for that night's contest. We'd like to extend our condolences to Scrivens.

Ben Scrivens allowed five goals on 37 shots in a 5-1 defeat in Washington Tuesday night.

The only action he'll see for the remainder of the season is if the Leafs feel they need to give starter James Reimer the night off as Scrivens has entrenched himself as the team's backup.

Despite a shutout by Reimer last night, Scrivens gets a turn. He has a .918 SV% in 18 games this season.

Ben Scrivens is expected to start in between the pipes Tuesday night.

It'll be Scrivens' first start in March 26, when he made 40 saves en route to a 3-2 win over the Panthers. Scrivens has no fantasy value as James Reimer's backup.
