Shattenkirk added another two assists in Saturday's win over Washington.

Shattenrik has been an assist-machine this season, racking up 15 helpers in just 17 games. Although he only has one goal on the season, the 25-year-old has produced a remarkable 16 points in 17 games, operating at basically a point-per-game pace. The fact he has five points in his last three games would indicate he isn't slowing down anytime soon. Shattenrirk plays on the top power-play unit and meshes well with all the offensive talent the Blues have up front. You know what to do.

Shattenkirk tallied a pair of power-play assists and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 6-1 beating of the Sabres.

Shattenkirk's racking up power-play assists -- okay, what else is new? His only goal of the year and nine of his 12 helpers have come on the man advantage.

Shattenkirk registered his team-leading ninth assist of the season in Monday's 4-3 shootout victory over the Rangers.

Shattenkirk has been dynamite to open the season, scoring at a near point-per-game pace (10 points in 11 games) from the back end. The only potential quibble owners might have with him is his lack of shots, as his 23 shots on goal leave him outside the NHL's top-30 d-men in that category. Still, he's an elite asset and makes for a fabulous anchor on fantasy blue lines in nearly all league formats.

Shattenkirk assisted on both of Vladimir Tarasenko's goals -- the first at even strength, the second on an overtime power play -- in Tuesday's win over the Stars.

Shattenkirk's been a little inconsistent to start the year, but he now has a goal and seven helpers in eight games. With all the power-play time he sees, he's a valuable roll.

Shattenkirk's first goal of the season -- a power-play tally -- represented the entirety of the Blues' offense in Thursday's loss to Vancouver. He went minus-2 and put three shots on goal.

It's no surprise to see Shatternkirk's first goal come on the power play, considering that four of his first five assists have come on the man advantage as well. Coming off a 10-goal, 45-point season, Shattenkirk has a shot at even bigger numbers this year, as he's a fixture on the St. Louis blue line and power play.

Shattenkirk recorded two third-period power-play assists in Saturday's blowout win over Arizona.

Through four games, Shattenkirk has managed five assists, to go with a plus-3 rating. He is currently averaging 22:11 of ice time, including 3:41 on the power play, where he has already dished out four assists. Another 40-point season is likely ahead for this 25-year-old stud.

Shattenkirk's first three assists of the season came Saturday in a 4-1 win over the Flames.

Two of the helpers came with the man advantage. Shattenkirk was named the game's first star for the effort and we suspect where will be a few more of those this season.

Coming up short in the 2014 playoffs hit Kevin Shattenkirk harder than the Blues' 2013 defeat.

"Not that we made excuses last year, but we took steps last year I think and this year we took steps backwards," Shattenkirk said. "For guys like us to be in that same position, if we're going to learn from it, we're going to have to change and do something about it ... win two more games and win the series, close the series out and we didn't do it. It's disappointing and it falls on our shoulders." St. Louis has now lost in the first round in back-to-back years despite their talent. The good news is that the Blues are young enough that their window of opportunity to serious compete for the Stanley Cup isn't fading yet.

Blues defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk was held without a point Monday as the Blues dropped a 2-0 decision to Chicago in Game 3 of their opening round playoff series.

Shattenkirk had recorded points in each of the Blues' first two games, but the streak came to an end with the shutout posted by the Hawks on this night. The blueliner did manage to fire three shots on goal despite the losing effort.
