Campbell announced he will retire from the NHL on Monday following his 17-year career.
EDGE Analysis
When Campbell was scratched for two games last year, it was the first time he had failed to play in every regular season contest since the 2010-11 campaign. The blueliner saw a significant drop in production -- just 17 points -- in what will be his final season. For his career, the sixth-round pick from the 1997 NHL Draft saw action in 1082 NHL games in which he racked up 87 goals and 417 helpers -- lifting the Stanley Cup with the Hawks in 2010.

Campbell scored the game-winning goal in a 5-3 victory over the Predators on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
Although this was his first goal since Jan. 10, the 37-year-old is one score shy of matching last season's total. He also has 16 points and a plus-21 rating. Campbell has never been better in the plus/minus category, as he is a plus-52 player since the start of 2015. His 2016-17 campaign also includes four power-play points, 64 shots and 22 penalty minutes.

Campbell had an assist in 18:02 of ice time in Saturday's win over the Oilers.
EDGE Analysis
It was the first point in eight games for Campbell, who has put up 14 points in 55 games this season. The veteran logs decent minutes and plays on the second power-play unit, but he's on the decline and is overshadowed by the likes of Brent Seabrook and Duncan Keith in Chicago. Campbell remains a decent play in some deeper formats, but he's too inconsistent to be trusted in most fantasy leagues.

Campbell scored his third goal of the season in a 6-4 victory over the Blues on Saturday.
EDGE Analysis
He was once a 50 or 60 point defenseman, but at 37, Campbell can't be counted upon for much production anymore. This was his first goal in 18 games and just his second point in 14 contests. It also doesn't help that his minutes are as low as they have been in a decade. Last season, he had six goals and 31 points, and there's little to suggest Campbell will be able to beat that in 2016-17.

Campbell scored a first-period goal on the power-play during Friday's loss to the Capitals.
EDGE Analysis
While it was Campbell's second goal and seventh point of the season, he's offered little in the peripheral categories outside of his plus-6 rating. The 37-year-old veteran has just 15 shots, 13 blocked shots and 12 hits through 15 games. He may be able to maintain most of his offensive production going forward, but he offers very little fantasy value if the scoring dries up.

Campbell scored an unassisted goal and played a season-high 21:51 during Monday's loss to the Flames.
EDGE Analysis
Leading into Monday's game, Campbell was averaging just 16:54 per night through the first six outings of the season. However, Gustav Forsling was forced from the game with an undisclosed injury on Monday, so that had more to do with Campbell's uptick in ice time than anything. And while the limited minutes are concerning, the veteran defenseman is contributing offensively with a goal and four assists through seven games. Still, he shouldn't be viewed as a must-have fantasy asset and is likely best left to deeper formats.

Campbell dished up three assists in Saturday's shootout win over Toronto.
EDGE Analysis
Soupy may be 37, but he can still split seams with his passes and reap the benefits. Check your wire -- Campbell may do better this year than his 31 points of 2015-16.

Although previous reports indicated Campbell would likely be a healthy scratch for Friday's game against Columbus, the 37-year-old will be in the lineup for the evening's contest, Tracey Myers of CSN Chicago reports.
EDGE Analysis
Campbell's owners can breathe a sigh of relief, as the veteran blueliner will not only be in the lineup for Friday night's matchup with the Blue Jackets, but will also be playing on his natural left-hand side after skating on the right side for the first four games of the season. Campbell's move to the left side of the ice could lead to a spark in his offensive production, so owners who were contemplating dropping Soupy may want to consider taking a wait-and-see approach.

Campbell is expected to be a healthy scratch for Friday's game against Columbus, Brian Hedger of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
This is a bit of a surprising development, as Campbell has been lauded as the Blackhawks' most important offseason pickup, but head coach Joel Quenneville apparently wants to get Trevor van Riemsdyk back in the lineup Friday, and isn't willing to sit promising rookie defenseman Gustav Forsling to do so. Campbell could return to action as soon as Saturday against Toronto, but fantasy owners that selected him in the later rounds of their drafts may want to consider taking a look at the waiver wire for blueliners with higher upside than Soupy.

Campbell rejoined the Blackhawks by agreeing to a one-year contract Friday, Chris Kuc of the Chicago Tribune reports.
EDGE Analysis
Campbell originally put pen to paper on an eight-year deal with the Blackhawks valued at $7.1 million annually, which carried over to the Panthers in a straight-up trade for Rostislav Olesz in June of 2011. It's not clear at this point how much Campbell will earn under the new deal, but bringing the talented defender back to the Windy City on a short-time deal seems reasonable. The 37-year-old won a Stanley Cup with Chicago as part of the 2009-10 season, and won the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy one season later for his sportsmanship. Campbell can still get it done for fantasy owners, as evidenced by his 31-point effort with the Panthers last season. Better yet, he hasn't missed a regular-season game in three years.
