Eakin chipped in two assists in Saturday's victory over the Sharks.

Eakin has fit in quite well while playing on the top line with Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin for the last three games, producing two goals and three assists. Given the immense talents of the two players flanking him, there's reason to think Eakin can continue producing at a decent rate while he remains on the top line. Those in search of forward help would be wise to take a flier on Eakin in the event coach Lindy Ruff decides to keep him with the top trio for the balance of the season.

Eakin scored a goal for the second consecutive game in Thursday's win over the Coyotes.

After a nine-game scoring skid, Eakin's found his offensive game again, but that's come along with mighty struggles in faceoffs -- he's won just 15 of 44 over the last two games. Still, most fantasy formats are more concerned with the points, and Eakin should put up enough of those to be viable in deep formats.

Eakin contributed a goal and assist in Tuesday's loss to the Hurricanes.

Though the Stars ended up taking the loss, Eakin's performance was impressive enough for coach Lindy Ruff to give him a look as the top-line center alongside Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin at Wednesday's practice, according to Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News. Eakin's assist Tuesday came on a Seguin goal, while Benn helped set up Eakin's third-period shorthanded marker. If trio can find similar success together Thursday against the Coyotes, Eakin could end up enjoying some long-term run on the top line.

Eakin (upper body) is doubtful to play Saturday against the Sharks, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News reports.

Eakin was a late scratch for Thursday's tilt after still feeling sore from the Stars' game on Tuesday. He wasn't able to return to the ice for Friday's practice, so it appears he'll need some more time to rest up before he's back to 100 percent health.

Eakin was not on the ice for warmups Thursday, likely ruling him out for the contest against the Predators, Mark Stepneski of the Stars' official site reports.

Eakin took the ice for morning skate, making him a likely candidate to return from an undisclosed ailment, but his lack of presence in warmups proves otherwise. He appears to be day-to-day, and should be a candidate to play in Saturday's game against the Sharks.
