Caron, who saw action in Monday's loss to the Avs, remains a candidate for recall when injuries hit, or the next time the Bruins are looking to shake up their depth forward mix, but he's not likely to be much of a fantasy factor when he is with the big club this season.

Caron was assigned to Providence on Tuesday, but the move was primarily procedural, and he is back on the Bruins' roster. It remains to be seen if he will be in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Red Wings.

After clearing waivers last week, Caron returned to the Bruins shortly thereafter before being dumped again. There's a strong possibility the Bruins made several of Tuesday's transactions with the motive of getting under the salary cap, so Caron could still return to the NHL club before long.

Caron was placed on waivers by the Bruins on Saturday, TSN's Bob McKenzie reports.
With both Caron and Craig Cunningham dismissed from training camp Saturday, it appears that Simon Gagne and Daniel Paille have cracked the Bruins' final roster. Caron appeared in 35 games for the Bruins last season, tallying three points while seeing most of his ice time on the fourth line.

Caron notched two assists in Friday's 5-4 preseason loss to the Capitals.
In doing so, Caron, who is fighting for one of the Bruins' open roster spots up front, caught the eye of his coach, the Boston Herald relays. "I thought he had a real strong game," coach Claude Julien said of Caron's effort Friday. "There's no doubt he's fighting for a spot. He wants to show us that he belongs here. If he plays like that, he's got a real good chance of sticking. He was skating well, finishing his checks, creating thing."

Jordan Caron has agreed to a one-year, $600,000 contract with the Boston Bruins.
The Bruins investigated the possibility of trading Caron, not because he requested a move, but because they were trying to be fair to him and felt he might have a better opportunity to play regularly elsewhere. Nothing materialized from that, but he still might end up being dealt before the summer's over. Caron had three points and 36 penalty minutes in 35 games last season.

Boston has not given Jordan Caron a qualifying yet because they are trying to trade him.
"We've got one prepared, but we're not sure yet," said GM Peter Chiarelli. "He's still young, he's been in and out of our lineup, and in fairness to him we've looked for another [NHL] spot for him. It wasn't out of the request of Jordan. He wants to stay in Boston, but at his age [24 in November], he also wants a chance to play on the regular basis." He suited up in 35 games with the Bruins in 2013-14 and he collected just three points.

He was replaced in the lineup by overtime hero Matt Fraser, who was making his NHL playoff debut. Caron has one goal in seven games this postseason, but he's averaged just 7:54 of ice time per match.

The Sayabec, Quebec native will probably get to play in his home province Tuesday night. Caron has one goal in six postseason games, while seeing less than 10:42 of ice time in five of those outings.
