Dale Weise has inked a two-year, $2 million contract extension with the Montreal Canadiens.

Montreal shipped Raphael Diaz to Vancouver on Feb. 3 to acquire Weise. The latter ended up with 16 points and 59 penalty minutes in 61 contests between the Canadiens and Canucks in 2013-14.

Montreal GM Marc Bergevin confirmed that Dale Weise suffered a concussion in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Final against New York.

He spent some time in the "quiet room" before he was cleared to return to the contest. However, he wasn't able to play in Game 6. Symptoms of a concussion don't always immediately appear, so that may have been the case here. Weise contributed three goals and four assists in 16 games during Montreal's playoff run. He will use the summer to recover.

Dale Weise won't play in Game 6 Thursday.

It's believed he suffered a concussion, but coach Michel Therrien wouldn't discuss the ailment. He called it a "body injury" and wouldn't talk about the symptoms that Weise reportedly suffered from after Tuesday's win. Weise has been a good player for the Canadiens during the playoffs and even though he's a fourth liner he will be missed in the lineup.

Dale Weise reportedly sustained a concussion as a result of the hit he absorbed from John Moore on Tuesday.

If that's true, then the obvious question is why he was allowed back into the game after spending time in the "quiet room." Weise had three goals and seven points in 16 playoff games.

Dale Weise was temporarily removed from Tuesday's game after a controversial high hit from John Moore.

Weise needed to spend some time in the "quiet room" before he was given the okay to return to the contest. He ended up with two assists in Montreal's 7-4 victory.

Dale Weise skated on the third line during Wednesday's practice.

He left the fourth line, where he has played for the majority of the 2014 playoffs, to skate alongside Lars Eller and Rene Bourque. However, his promotion came because Thomas Vanek was demoted to rotation duty on the fourth unit and it's unclear if that change will last going into Game 3. Weise has contributed three goals and two assists in 13 contests this postseason, while averaging just under 10 minutes of ice time per match.

Dale Weise opened the scoring in Game 7 with his third goal of the playoffs.

He scored just 2:18 into the first period to give Montreal an early 1-0 lead over Boston. The Canadiens went on to win the game 3-1 to advance to the Eastern Conference Final, where they will host the New York Rangers. Weise finished the game with 9 minutes of ice time. He also became a focal point of discussion after the contest when he was threatened by Boston's Milan Lucic in the post-game handshake line.

Dale Weise scored the overtime winner for Montreal to lift the Canadiens to a 5-4 win over Tampa Bay in Game 1 of their opening round playoff series.

Weise's goal at 18:08 of the first overtime frame sent the Lightning to their locker room in disappointment and put the Habs ahead in the series. Tomas Plekanec, Lars Eller, Brian Gionta and Thomas Vanek were the other Montreal scorers in the victory.

Dale Weise (hand) may get clearance Tuesday to play on Wednesday against Chicago.

"We'll see how the injury responds tomorrow and determine what the plan is," said Weise after he practiced on Monday. "I've been skating for the past week and a half, so my conditioning level is good. All I need now is to get some game action under my belt and to work the kinks out before the playoffs." He has been sidelined since Mar. 24 with a hand injury.
