Dale Weise RW MON 17 Days

Weise bagged a goal and assisted on another in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Bruins.

That's back-to-back two-point performances for Weise, who continues to shine on the Habs' top line. He's now compiled three goals and two assists over his four February games, sending his ownership rates on deeper fantasy leagues on the upswing.

Weise netted two goals in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Devils.

Both of Weise's tallies came within a three-minute span late in the third period, turning a 4-2 game into a rout. Weise had been the beneficiary of an under-the-radar appointment to the top line recently, and while his skill set is probably not best suited for that role, there's still value in skating alongside Max Pacioretty. With four points over his last five games, Weise seems poised to stick with the top trio for the time being.

Weise assisted on Montreal's lone goal in Thursday night's 1-0 win over the Rangers. In addition to his assist, Weise nearly scored a first-period goal, but video replays could not overturn the on-ice ruling that the puck did not cross the goal line.

Weise is about as unlikely a top-six forward as you'll see in the NHL, but he works hard and puts himself around the net. And that pleases head coach Michel Therrien, who will leave Weise on the top line with Tomas Plekanec and Max Pacioretty as long as the Habs are winning. Weise has a career-high 17 points while averaging a career-high 12:13 of ice time per game this season.

Weise was promoted to the top line and scored a goal in Saturday night's 6-4 win over the Islanders.

The Canadiens had become a one-line team the past week, so head coach Michel Therrien made some tweaks. Weise is normally a fourth-line grinder, but has been a malleable piece, capable of fitting with any teammate. He hasn't offered much fantasy value in his career, but Therrien has showed a willingness to use him as a top-six forward and he has a career high in goals, assists and points through 41 games played in 2014-15.

Weise scored his fifth goal of the season in Tuesday night's 4-2 loss to the Lightning. He has points in three straight games and four points (one goal, three assists) in the last five games.

Some of his recent ice time has come on the second line as a replacement for the injured P.A. Parenteau (upper body), so Weise is playing with more skilled forwards during this window of time.

Weise supplied an assist in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Penguins.

Weise now has a point in three of his last four games, but with only four shots on goal and a grand total of 18 seconds of power-play time during that span, don't go rushing to pick him up. The winger has already set a career high with 14 points in 36 games, and with a move to the team's top-six not on the horizon, it's best to fade him.

Weise skated on the first line in Friday night's loss to Chicago. He was on the ice for a season-high 17:39 while P.A. Parenteau (10:34) was dropped to third-line duty.

Weise is a good soldier who battles hard, but he's nobody's idea of a top-six forward. The Habs called up Sven Andrighetto (nine goals, nine assists) from AHL Hamilton after Friday night's game, so we might see some lineup juggling Saturday night in Dallas.

Weise scored twice in Saturday's win over Philadelphia. It's his second-straight, two-point game.

He also had five hits and seven PIM in those two games. The production is outstanding for a guy whose primary role is energy. But it's not enough for us to recommend picking him up off the wire -- he may not get another four points before Christmas.

Despite skating just 8:50 in Thursday's win over Boston, Weise scored his first goal of the year on a penalty shot, notched an assist, went plus-2 and racked up seven PIM.

That'll fill up the ol' fantasy stat sheet, but there also aren't a lot of people starting Weise in fantasy. The fourth-liner won't have a lot of games like this, so don't rush out to grab him off the wire except in very deep leagues.

Weise skated with the top line during Saturday's practice, Hockey Inside Out reports. He joined David Desharnais and Max Pacioretty during the third period of Thursday night's overtime loss to the Canucks and assisted on Pacioretty's game-tying goal with a little over two minutes remaining in regulation.

"(Weise) is a good skater, a guy who has to play with a certain level of intensity and, with that intensity, creates some space for (his teammates)," head coach Michel Therrien told reporters after practice. "We tried to create an impact with the line changes. It was positive." Therrien has not confirmed his line combinations for Sunday's game against the Flames, but if this sticks, Weise should get a boost in value.
