Brent Burns will continue to play forward when San Jose opens the playoffs at Vancouver on Wednesday night.

He will skate with Joe Thornton and T.J. Galiardi, which has been a tough line for the opposition to match up against. Burns has produced eight goals and 17 points in 20 games as a forward, which makes him an interesting player going into the postseason for poolies and for the Sharks.

Critics who panned the San Jose Sharks' decision to move Brent Burns from a defensive to a forward spot continue to eat crow.

Burns scored his ninth goal in San Jose's 2-1 loss to the Phoenix Coyotes on Wednesday. After going pointless in six games as a D this season, he's scored 17 points in 22 games as a forward. Best yet, you can play him in a defensive spot in many leagues, giving him significant value.

Brent Burns had a goal and an assist in San Jose's 3-2 shootout win Tuesday.

T.J. Galiardi accounted for the Sharks' other goal. Joe Thornton registered his 31st assist of the season.

This is good news for Burns' owners because he is more valuable as a forward. He should continue to post great numbers up-front alongside Joe Thornton.

Burns has been great at forward having posted five goals and five assists in nine games.

Brent Burns will serve as a forward on Monday.

Burns had 10 points in nine games as a forward before moving back to the blueline on Saturday. The Sharks made the move because defenseman Jason Demers was injured, but it looks like recently promoted blueliner Matt Tennyson will help fill the void.
