Mike Brown RW SAN 2 Days

Brown (leg) skated with the Sharks at Saturday's morning practice, Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area reports.

It was Brown's first on-ice workout with the team since he fractured a bone in his right leg Dec. 9. The winger has reported some gradual improvement with his condition over the last few days, but is still getting over a setback in his recovery that he suffered a few weeks back. There's no timetable for his return and likely won't be until he's able to participate in full-contact practice.

Brown (leg) has yet to receive clearance to skate, Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area reports.

Kurz appears to be several weeks away from taking to the ice, meaning he'll more than likely be facing the far end of his six-to-eight week recovery timetable, or perhaps even longer. As a fixture in the Sharks' bottom six, Brown hadn't seen many point-scoring opportunities on the few occasions he's been healthy enough to play this season.

Brown has a broken right fibula and will miss six-to-eight weeks from the time of the fracture on Dec. 9, Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area reports.

Brown was placed on injured reserve the day after the injury, indicating it was severe. Now that the injury has been revealed as a broken fibula, the timetable has been set at six-to-eight weeks, scheduling his return for late January or early February

Brown (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday.

The move doesn't come as much of a surprise after coach Todd McLellan announced after Tuesday's game that Brown would be "out for a while." The Sharks haven't indicated specifically how much time Brown will miss, but the IR placement ensures that it will be at least seven days, and most likely, well beyond that.

Brown suffered a lower-body injury in Tuesday's win over the Oilers, with coach Todd McLellan saying after the game that the winger would be "out for a while," Kevin Kurz of CSN Bay Area reports.

Brown needed assistance off the ice after laying a hit on the Oilers' Matt Hendricks, as it didn't look like he was capable of putting much weight on his right leg. The Sharks should have a more formal update on the fourth-liner's status Wednesday, but it looks like he could be headed for his second trip to injured reserve. He has suited up for just eight games this season.

Brown just resumed practicing with the team Friday but coach Todd McLelland said he should be activated off IR in time for Saturday's matchup. During Saturday's morning session, Brown skated on the fourth line with Andrew Desjardins and John Scott.

Brown (hand) resumed practicing with the Sharks on Friday, Kevin Kurz of CSNBayArea.com reports.

Brown has been sidelined since mid-October with the hand injury, but his presence at practice would make it seem that he's nearing the end of his recovery timetable. He'd likely fill a role in the Sharks' bottom six once he's activated from injured reserve.

Brown skated Saturday morning without the small cast that has been on his hand since he suffered his injury on Oct. 11, the San Jose Mercury News reports.

"Bandages or cast have been removed, but don't expect him in the lineup for a while," coach Todd McLellan said. Brown is still expected to miss at least two more weeks before returning to the lineup.

Brown (hand) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, Kevin Kurz of CSNBayArea.com reports.

Brown was set to miss multiple games after hurting his hand last Saturday following a blocked shot, so the move to injured reserve doesn't come as a major surprise. Eriah Hayes was recalled from AHL Worchester to fill the void in the Sharks' bottom six.
