The New Jersey Devils appear to be interested in bringing back potential UFA defenseman Marek Zidlicky.

"We'd certainly like to have him back," said GM Lou Lamoriello. Zidlicky is currently playing for the Czech Republic at the World Hockey Championship. The Devils are still deciding what their off-season plans are at this time.

Marek Zidlicky is another pending unrestricted free agent who the Devils will need to make a decision on this summer.

Key UFA-to-be forwards, Patrik Elias and David Clarkson, haven't had any contract talks with New Jersey yet. The Devils also have Dainius Zubrus eligible to hit the open market in July. They are important players but it remains to be seen who the organization is interested in bringing back after they failed to make the playoffs.

Marek Zidlicky netted the game-tying goal in New Jersey's 3-2 shootout loss to Ottawa Monday night.

The marker was his first since he scored two against Toronto back on March 4. The defenseman earned the praise of coach Pete DeBoer for jumping into the rush. "Big play at a big time. Your best players have to be your best players and with Kovalchuk out he's one of the guys we rely on for offense," DeBoer said. "It was a great play." He finished the game with four shots and a plus-2 rating.

Marek Zidlicky potted two goals in the Devils' 4-2 loss Monday night against the Leafs.

Zidlicky struggled to find his offensive touch last season, with only 22 points in 63 games between Minnesota and New Jersey. With 10 points in 22 games in this 48-game shortened season, Zidlicky should be owned in 12-team leagues, especially if your league rewards power play points.

Marek Zidlicky scored his first goal of the season in a 5-1 loss Saturday.

Patrik Elias and Ilya Kovalchuk assisted on Zidlicky's goal. Zidlicky has seven points in 15 games this season and it wouldn't be surprising to see him maintain that pace.

Marek Zidlicky has four assists in seven games through Saturday's 5-1 loss to Pittsburgh.

Zidlicky has been logging 4:18 minutes per game with the man advantage, which is good enough for third place on the Devils. As long as that keeps up, he should have plenty of fantasy value. Don't get scared off by his anemic 2010-11 and 2011-12 numbers.
