Vrbata will miss Sunday's game against the Ducks with a lingering leg injury, Ben Kuzma of the Vancouver Province reports.

Vrbata has been bothered by the injury since Thursday, but managed to play through the pain in Saturday's loss to the Kings. However, in an effort to prevent the issue from worsening, Vrbata will sit out the second game of the Canucks' weekend back-to-back, but it doesn't appear likely that a long-term absence is in store. After the game against the Ducks, the Canucks won't play again until next Friday, which should offer Vrbata ample time to nurse himself back to full health.

Vrbata found the net and attempted a game-high seven shots in Tuesday's loss to the Stars.

Vrbata scored for the third straight game Friday, chipped in an assist and fired four shots on net in a win over the Oilers. He also skated to a plus-2.

The former Coyote is jelling magnificently with the Sedin twins on Vancouver's top line, as the trio has now hooked up for 17 points in the first three games of the season. It's often forgotten that this guy found twine 35 times in 2011-12 with Phoenix, so if he can find a way to consistently make magic with the twins -- who have looked refreshed playing for new coach Willie Desjardins -- then it's conceivable that Vrbata could set new career highs this season. It's early, but props to you if you drafted the underrated Czech sniper.

What a start for the former-Coyote, who helped bring out the best of Daniel and Henrik Sedin on Wednesday. Vrbata's fantasy stock continues to rise as he continues to show chemistry with the twins on the top line. Vrbata is looking very deadly on the top line and could do some major damage in fantasy this season. The former-35 goal scorer is an elite sniper who now has the luxury of playing with two of the best playmakers in the game. If the preseason is any indication, Vrbata could be in for a very successful 2014-2015 campaign.
