Radim Vrbata RW VAN 2 Days

Vrbata picked up a power-play assist in Thursday's win over the Blues. He has opened the season with seven points (four goals) in his first six games.

Vrbata, who has fit in seamlessly with Vancouver, is tied for the NHL-lead with two-game winning goals and has been credited with an impressive 28 shots on goal in just six games. Vrbata shows no sign of slowing down, and with the Sedin twins as his linemates, expect him to keep shooting and to keep scoring.

Vrbata found the net and attempted a game-high seven shots in Tuesday's loss to the Stars.

Vrbata's goal wasn't particularly meaningful with the Canucks already trailing by five scores at the time, but don't tell that to his fantasy owners. The 33-year-old has tallied a goal in all but one of the Canucks' five games this season.

Vrbata scored for the third straight game Friday, chipped in an assist and fired four shots on net in a win over the Oilers. He also skated to a plus-2.

The former Coyote is jelling magnificently with the Sedin twins on Vancouver's top line, as the trio has now hooked up for 17 points in the first three games of the season. It's often forgotten that this guy found twine 35 times in 2011-12 with Phoenix, so if he can find a way to consistently make magic with the twins -- who have looked refreshed playing for new coach Willie Desjardins -- then it's conceivable that Vrbata could set new career highs this season. It's early, but props to you if you drafted the underrated Czech sniper.

Vrbata contributed a goal and an assist in Saturday's shootout win over the Oilers.

Both of Vrbata's tallies came on the power play, with the winger seeing a team-high 7:18 on the man advantage thanks to the Oilers' seven penalties. Through two games with the Canucks, Vrbata has fit in seamlessly in his new home, netting two goals and an assist while attempting nine shots.

Vrbata scored the game-winning goal, recorded four shots on goal, and was a plus-2 in Wednesday's season-opening win over Calgary.

What a start for the former-Coyote, who helped bring out the best of Daniel and Henrik Sedin on Wednesday. Vrbata's fantasy stock continues to rise as he continues to show chemistry with the twins on the top line. You can't go wrong with a former-35 goal scorer who is playing at even strength and on the power play with two of the best playmakers in the game.

Vrbata has struck for two goals in three preseason games playing alongside Daniel and Henrik Sedin.

Vrbata is looking very deadly on the top line and could do some major damage in fantasy this season. The former-35 goal scorer is an elite sniper who now has the luxury of playing with two of the best playmakers in the game. If the preseason is any indication, Vrbata could be in for a very successful 2014-2015 campaign.

Vrbata scored his first preseason goal--on the power play--off a perfect passing play from Daniel and Henrik Sedin in Friday's win over the Flames.

The Sedins took care of the setup, while Vrbata used his wicked shot to take care of the finish. Vrbata was also credited with a game-high seven shots of goal in 20:00 of ice time. The former-35 goal scorer will start the season with the Sedin twins and could be a great steal in fantasy drafts.

Vrbata skated with the Sedin twins in Tuesday's preseason win over San Jose, picking up an assist on a Linden Vey empty net goal.

Vrbata was solid against the Sharks, finding some chemistry with the Sedin twins. He had a few offensive chances, but couldn't bury any of his team-high five shots on goal. Vrbata could be a key fantasy performer this season if he starts to click with Henrik and Daniel Sedin.

Radim Vrbata and his agent fielded a number of offers before the winger decided to sign with the Vancouver Canucks.

The team Vrbata left, the Arizona Coyotes, were among the suitors for his services, but it's clear their offer was far less lucrative than the one he settled on. "We both tried really hard to find something if something would work," said Vrbata. "Over 24 hours, I don't know if you'd say we were close but we had something I would consider even though it was less money and if it got out, some people would think I was crazy." The change of scenery should be positive for the forward provided he lines up alongside the Sedins, as expected.

Radim Vrbata expects to get a chance to play with Daniel and Henrik Sedin in Vancouver, according to his agent Rich Evans.

"I guess he's going to have to earn the spot but the opportunity is hopefully there for him to do that," Evans said. "The twins play a style of game that is well suited to the style that Radim plays, which is pitch and catch where they move the puck very quickly. The twins are both smart players and he is hoping to recapture some of the success he had when he was playing with Ray Whitney down in Phoenix." He's also projected to add some scoring punch to the Canucks' power play, which finished 26th in the league last season. Vrbata potted 10 goals with the man advantage in 2013-14. If he clicks with the Sedins, he has the potential to flirt the 60-point mark.
