Lubomir Visnovsky D NYI 3 Hrs

Visnovsky (upper body) scored the Isles' lone goal in his return to the lineup Saturday against the Red Wings.

He finished the afternoon with three shots over 18:14 of ice time, with three of those minutes coming on the power play, where he tallied his fourth goal of the season. Visnovsky will occupy a third-pairing role for the Isles now that he's back healthy again, with most of his scoring chances likely to come on the man advantage.

Visnovsky (upper body) was activated from injured reserve Saturday.

Visnovsky appears to be ready to go after missing about three weeks with the injury. The veteran rearguard has seen his offense hit the skids over the last few seasons, with an inability to stay healthy undoubtedly factoring into his decline. Even with his career on the downturn, Visnovsky will still likely represent an upgrade over Brian Strait, who he figures to replace in lineup for Saturday's tilt with the Red Wings.

Coach Jack Capuano said Visnovsky (upper body) could be a lineup option for Saturday's game against the Red Wings, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.

Visnovsky has been practicing since prior to the All-Star break, but wasn't cleared to return to game action when the Islanders resumed play Tuesday against the Rangers, as had been anticipated. It seems the Islanders are simply waiting for the aging rearguard to get closer to 100 percent health, and he may finally be at that point Saturday. The team's practice lines and defensive pairings during Saturday's morning skate should indicate whether or not Visnovsky will return to the lineup later that evening.

Visnovsky (upper body) will not play Tuesday against the Rangers.

It sounded like Visnovsky would be ready to play after he resumed practicing with the team last week, but evidently, the Islanders feel more comfortable about giving him some additional time off to recover. If he continues to skate without any setbacks over the next two days, he could draw back in the lineup Thursday versus the Bruins.

Visnovsky (upper body) is expected to return for Tuesday's game against the Rangers, Newsday's Arthur Staple reports.

Visnovsky returned to practice last Tuesday, so it's not surprise that he'll be ready for the first game of the second half. He has three goals and eight assists in 29 games this season.

Visnovsky (upper body) returned to practice for the Islanders on Tuesday, according to Newsday's Arthur Staple.

Visnovsky hasn't played since Jan. 4 but with the Islanders having a full seven days off after their victory over the Flyers on Monday, there is a good chance that he will return to the lineup when the Islanders next play versus the Rangers next Tuesday.

Visnovsky likely suffered the injury on Sunday against the Oilers. While the severity of the injury is unclear at this point in time, Visnovsky will be eligible to return to the Isles' lineup as soon as next Tuesday when they take on the Rangers.

Visnovsky scored the game-winning goal Saturday against the Blackhawks. He has two points in three games since returning from injury.

Yah, he's a little long in the tooth, but he can still put up a few points. Grab him off the wire if you need a 30-point defender -- he's on pace for that kind of tally.

Visnovsky (upper body) was activated from injured reserve and will play Tuesday against the Wild, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.

After missing the previous four games with the injury, Visnovsky will replace Matt Donovan in the lineup, assuming a top-four spot for the Islanders on defense. The 38-year-old's best years may be behind him at this point, but he still offers a little more offensive punch than most blueliners. He's notched six points and a plus-5 rating over 17 games this season.
