Antoine Vermette netted the lone goal for the Coyotes in their 2-1 loss to the Canucks on Thursday night.

Vermette ended a five-game pointless skid. For a player receiving as much ice time as he does, Vermette doesn't produce at a top-six-forward rate. He has just seven goals and 14 points in 31 games this year. Radim Vrbata and Oliver Ekman-Larsson had the assists.

Antoine Vermette scored his fourth goal and added his fourth assist of the season in the Phoenix Coyotes 4-0 win over over the Calgary Flames.

While he flashes the skill he has on nights like these, his career numbers have him miscast in a top six role. There was a time where Vermette was projected as one, but since he's 30 those days are long gone. However, the Coyotes severe lack of skill in the forward department has him in one. He now has eight points in 16 games and the oppertunity to put up good numbers but so far he hasn't delievered on a consistent basis. Keep an eye on him for waiver wire purposes if he goes on a mini hot streak but other than that he's a dime a dozen player.

Antoine Vermette has three goals and five points in eight games this season.

Vermette has gotten some playing time with Steve Sullivan. Vermette is also getting plenty of power-play ice time, which makes him a decent bet to maintain his current pace.

The transition from Columbus to Phoenix for Antoine Vermette has been a pretty smooth one.

Vermette had 10 points in 22 regular season games with the Coyotes after he was acquired near the trade deadline, but he's gotten more comfortable since he's been in Phoenix, tallying five goals and 10 points in the playoffs. "[General manager] Don [Maloney] did a lot of homework on him, not just watch a lot of video of him playing, but a lot of homework on his personality, coach Dave Tippett said. "We always talk about we need players that are going to fit well into our group. Everything Don heard about Antoine was very good, very good teammate. Sometimes, you get players that are outcasts in the dressing room. That wasn't the case. He was at the forefront of leadership, things he was trying to do. Good experience with the playoffs with Ottawa. We felt it was a player that fit well into our group, personality and play-wise."

Antoine Vermette had an assist in a 2-0 victory on Sunday.

Vermette and the Coyotes managed to stave off elimination, but the Kings still have a commanding 3-1 series lead. Vermette, who the Coyotes acquired from the Columbus Blue Jackets, has been a major factor in the playoffs with five goals and a team-leading 10 points in 15 games.

The Phoenix Coyotes didn't provide much in fantasy terms in a 4-0 loss to the Los Angeles Kings, but they did fill up one category: penalty minutes.

Shane Doan (15 PIMs) and Martin Hanzal (15 PIMs) lead the way while Antoine Vermette (12 PIMs) won't have to worry as much about league discipline. Derek Morris' knee-to-knee hit floated under the radar while players like Ray Whitney and Radim Vrbata have been disappointing offensively. Overall, the Coyotes have only scored two goals so far in this series.
