Scottie Upshall RW FLA 7 Days

Upshall scored Florida's lone regulation goal and fired off a season-high six shots in Thursday's 2-1 shootout win over Philadelphia.

Upshall's found his way onto the scoresheet in both games since being activated from IR, having tallied an assist in his return Tuesday. But he's averaged less than 11 minutes over these two games, which is not conducive to consistent offensive production.

Upshall (ankle) has been cleared to play, Matthew DeFranks reports.

There's still no word on Upshall's status for Tuesday's game against the Capitals, so keep an eye out for an update after Tuesday's morning skate. The winger hasn't played since Nov. 24, but racked up three goals and four assists in 17 games before getting hurt.

Upshall (ankle) won't be activated from injured reserve in advance of Friday's game against the Red Wings, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.

Upshall declared he was good to go after practicing fully Thursday, but coach Gerard Gallant appears inclined to wait a little longer before bringing the forward into the fold. Friday's game will mark the first game of a back-to-back, so it's possible that the Panthers simply didn't want to have Upshall play two days in a row immediately upon his return. Upshall could have a better shot at playing Saturday in Buffalo.

Upshall (ankle) is expected to play Friday against the Red Wings, Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

Upshall turned in a solid practice while skating with the rest of the team in Detroit on Thursday and should be able to punch his ticket back into the lineup with his participation in Friday's morning skate. The Panthers only have 21 players on their 23-man roster at the moment, so the team wouldn't need to clear a spot for his activation from IR.

Upshall (ankle) is expected to practice with the team Thursday, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.

Upshall hasn't been ruled out from playing in Friday's game against the Red Wings, but because he's missed over two weeks with the injury, it seems unlikely that he'll find his way back into the lineup right away. Instead, Upshall will probably need to take part in back-to-back practices without any limitations before the Panthers feel comfortable activating him from IR.

Upshall (ankle) won't travel with the team to St. Louis, but could meet the team in Detroit on Friday, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.

Upshall resumed skating Friday and is working his way back from an injury that sent him to the disabled list Nov. 27. The team should update his availability at some point before Friday's contest.

Upshall (leg) will resume skating Friday, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.

Upshall will take the ice Friday for the first time since injuring his leg in late November. It's not clear how much practice time he will need before he is declared ready to play, but it would seem he has a chance to return to action sometime next week.

Upshall (leg) was placed on injured reserve Thursday.

The Panthers made the move in order to free up a roster spot for goalie Dan Ellis, who was recalled from AHL San Antonio in the wake of Roberto Luongo suffering an injury Wednesday night. In addition to placing Upshall on IR, the Panthers also pushed his estimated return timetable back from one week to two weeks, according to Harvey Fialkov of the South Florida Sun Sentinel. Look for him to return to action around mid-December.

Upshall will miss at least a week due to an apparent ankle injury, George Richards of the Miami Herald reports.

Upshall missed two games last week due to a lower-body injury, and suffered a setback upon returning to the lineup Monday against the Wild. The winger was spotted wearing a walking boot after Tuesday's practice and looks like he'll be off the ice for the next few days as the Panthers wait for him to recover from the injury.
