Coach Todd Richards said it's possible that Tyutin (lower body) could return to the lineup Tuesday in Detroit.

Tyutin (lower body) is close to returning to action, Blue Jackets broadcaster Jeff Rimer reports.

Tyutin was diagnosed with a left knee sprain and will miss four-to-six weeks, Shawn Mitchell of the Columbus Dispatch reports. The Blue Jackets have placed him on injured reserve.

The injury occurred in Friday's win over the Flyers, when Tyutin took the brunt of a collision with Philadelphia forward Jakub Voracek. The Blue Jackets immediately addressed Tyutin's absence by acquiring Jordan Leopold from the Blues for a future draft pick. Leopold figures to slot in on the third pairing Saturday against the Sharks, assuming the bulk of Tyutin's minutes load.

Tyutin appeared to injure his left foot or ankle while blocking a shot late in Friday's 4-3 victory over the Flyers, Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch reports.

With only a few minutes remaining in the contest when the injury occurred, Tyutin didn't return to the game, leaving his status a bit hazy for Saturday's tilt with the Sharks. The blueliner attempted three shots on goal and laid two hits over 21 minutes of ice time prior to his exit.

Tyutin (undisclosed) will play Tuesday against the Capitals, Shawn Mitchell of the Columbus Dispatch reports.

Tyutin entered Tuesday's morning skate with the questionable tag, but received clearance to return after participating fully in the team's workout. The blueliner made waves earlier this season when he posted a franchise-record plus-5 rating in an Oct. 11 victory, but the Blue Jackets' ongoing eight-game losing streak has dropped him to a negative plus/minus rating for the season.

Tyutin (undisclosed) is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Capitals, Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch reports.

There's no word on what happened to Tyutin or what exactly is bothering him, but it doesn't sound like anything serious. The blueliner has an assist and a minus-2 rating through 14 games to date.

Tyutin set a franchise record with a plus-5 rating Saturday as the Blue Jackets downed the Rangers 5-2.

Through two games Tyutin has yet to collect a point, but his plus-6 rating is a nice boost for his owners in leagues that use that category.
