Jose Theodore has reportedly signed with Avangard Omsk of the KHL. Theodore had hoped to re-sign with the Florida Panthers, but nothing came of that. He's 37 years old and might have played in his last NHL game. He has 286 wins, a 2.68 GAA, and .909 save percentage in 648 career contests.

A report out of Russia states that goaltender Jose Theodore has received a contract offer from Avangard Omsk of the KHL. No terms have been released. The UFA turned down a professional tryout offer from his former team the Florida Panthers at the beginning of training camp when Scott Clemmensen underwent minor knee surgery and no other NHL team seemed interested in his services. He was 4-6-1 last season in an injury-plagued year with a 3.29 GAA and a .893 save percentage.

Jose Theodore turned down a professional tryout offer from the Florida Panthers. The Panthers are exploring their options after Scott Clemmensen underwent minor knee surgery. Theodore is still looking for a contract though. The Panthers also reportedly invited Tim Thomas to their training camp.

The Florida Panthers haven't given any indication that they plan to sign UFA goaltender Jose Theodore now that Scott Clemmensen won't be available for training camp due to a knee injury. GM Dale Tallon is looking for a veteran free-agent puckstopper though and a couple of candidates could include Mathieu Garon or Rick Dipietro. Younger goaltenders Michael Houser and Rob Madore, who just competed at the team's prospect tournament, are expected to attend training camp as well. Clemmensen may be ready for the start of the regular season and Jacob Markstrom is still slated to open the year as Florida's No. 1 goalie.

There is "no truth" to the rumors that Jose Theodore is close to signing with the Boston Bruins, according to agent Don Meehan. Theodore would have theoretically served as Tuukka Rask's understudy. The Bruins current projected backup Chad Johnson doesn't have much NHL experience and it wouldn't be shocking if the Bruins end up finding an alternative despite Johnson's one-way contract. So even though this rumor has been shot down for now, this might not be the last time we hearing about the possibility of Boston inking another netminder.

Jose Theodore says there hasn't been any contact between him and the Florida Panthers. Theodore appears like the odd man out with Jacob Markstrom and Scott Clemmensen already in place. Theodore is coming off an injury-plagued season that saw him replaced by Markstrom on a full-time basis by midseason. The veteran netminder may be able to land a professional tryout or a one-year deal either right before camp or perhaps during camp.

Florida Panthers assistant GM Mike Santos hasn't been in contact with Jose Theodore since the goaltender became an unrestricted free agent. It looks like Theodore won't return to the Panthers next season. They seem to to go with a tandem Jacob Markstrom and Scott Clemmensen.

Jose Theodore looks like he will be heading for unrestricted free agency later this week. Barring a change of heart, the Panthers will use Jacob Markstrom and Scott Clemmensen as their tandem next year. Theodore would like to remain in Florida, but he may not be in the team's plans anymore.

Jose Theodore wants to re-sign with the Florida Panthers. He will be an unrestricted free agent this summer if a deal cannot be reached with the Panthers. "I feel I got a big role with this team and like what we started here when I signed," Theodore said. "I never accept a backup role, but that doesn't mean it's not going to happen." If Florida intends to use Jacob Markstrom as their starter next year, as it is expected they will, then it might be best for them to part ways with Theodore and use Scott Clemmmensen, who has one year remaining on his deal with the club, as his backup. Theodore finished the season on the sidelines with a groin injury that kept him on the shelf since the beginning of March.

Jose Theodore (groin) worked out Tuesday on the ice before his teammates practiced. He has been sidelined since March 2 after he tore two groin muscles at Carolina and it doesn't look like he'll play again this season.
