Steve Sullivan netted his first goal as a member of the New Jersey Devils since Feb. 15, 1997.

As a fun side note, Martin Brodeur was the starter in that game too. Sullivan began his career with the Devils, but he spent the vast majority of it with other clubs. Now at the age of 38, he's come full circle and is trying to help the Devils make the playoffs. Unfortunately his goal on Sunday wasn't enough as the Devils still lost their seventh straight game.

If you need some power play points, consider picking up Steve Sullivan.

It looks as if the newly-acquired Sullivan will get some time on the Devils' power play as a pointman, a job he has done with success in the past. He will also be skating on the Devils' second line alongside Patrik Elias. We recommend you take a flier on him and pick him up prior to Saturday's contest against Toronto.

As expected, Steve Sullivan took part in his 1,000th career game on Thursday.

Sullivan's Phoenix Coyotes earned a 7-4 victory against his former team, the Nashville Predators. "I don't think we could have picked a better spot to play 1,000 games," Sullivan said of Nashville. "This is where I called home for seven years. This is where my kids grew up. This is pretty much all they remember. For them to come back and see friends and family and watch a milestone night for myself, it was like it was meant to be."

Steve Sullivan is hopeful that his performance in Saturday's win over Anaheim is the start of a hot streak.

In addition to potting the tying goal late in regulation to send the contest to overtime, Sullivan scored the only shootout marker for either team, earning two points for the Coyotes."That's what I was brought here to do, to help on the offensive side of the puck, and it wasn't going in," Sullivan said. "So I felt a lot of pressure." With nine points in 18 contests, the diminutive winger has been far from exceptional, but with points in two straight games he may be finding his groove.
